how about investing the money in COD2, instead?... i heard Quake4 sucks. I am sure, id will make money off of Quake 5, like it did from Quake 3 multiplayer.

After DoD... I need more free, legal games from Steam. Many people may have skipped this thought - my best gaming investment (I don't represent anyone else) has to be the HL2 package. They gave out all the oldies, DoD, CS, etc. without a hitch. Besdies that, the next one must be UT2004.

Yep, Quake 4 isn't a good game. Well it is good, but too many other games that provide better dollar for performance.

If it ain't got coop mode from the start (i.e., NOT looking for a community MOD, but full retail coop)...won't even read the reviews!!!

Yeah Quake without coop = ass. UT2004 and any number of war sims flat out beat it for pvp play. But Quakes co-op was the best.

I think online multiplayer is where it's at--blowing away bots doesn't compare to the challenge of going against a skilled human opponent, and playing a team game with dumb bots isn't comparable to playing a team game with humans (especially if the teams are organized; like a pick-up game or clan match). Let's hope UT 2007 is good.

The only Quake that I finished is the original Quake which was a masterpiece. I didn't play Quake II and had a look at Q III but didn't play it.

The best investment I made in games was buying Silver package from steam, I have all their catalog including the new DOD source and Counter strike source. The last game is the real deal in multiplayer. I play only one map (Dust 2) and each round is a DIFFERENT game u can't get enough, playing against extremely skilled players is a real challenge.

I may be COD2 but I don't think that I will get Quake 4. I am sure COD2 multiplayer will rock. I just need to buy my new Gaming PC soon so I can play BF2 and other demanding games as my current computer sucks

Illegal - yes. We've handed out two cease and desist orders in the last two days... I'm sure there well be plenty more to come.

What are you talking about? Of course there's multiplayer. Read the posts above. You can't play online with the "free" version (aka pirated version).

I think the single player game is pretty good. After I finish it hopefully the Q4 servers will be pretty active.

Coop ROCKS over a lan because you can still play against your buddies AND have AI Bots to mix up the action and even out the match (e.g., I've got a 3 PC lan and playing BF1942 2-on-1 with bots added to make the game ~evenly matched is great)!

Well...I can see I'll be playing RTS games, BF1942, BFV and eventually BF2 since they offer cooperative mode in the box.

Until the game companies offer what I'm looking for...I'll stick with the games that work for me
