BURNING HOT - Quake 4 - $38

This deal is for the CD-ROM version. At QuakeCon, Todd Hollenshead, CEO of ID software, explained the reason the publisher did not release a DVD standard version was due to the return rates. I guess some noobs always buy the DVD versions, realize at home that it their CDROM cannot read the DVD, and then go back to the store to return it. If you want to shell out some extra cash, you can get the DVD Special Edition for around $55.

As for Serious Sam 2, like the first version....the replay value of that game is limited. That said, it is a decent title to mix into a LAN Party for about an hour. I just get sick of the same levels after awhile.

Yep, Quake 4 isn't a good game. Well it is good, but too many other games that provide better dollar for performance.

I can't explain what any of the reviewers were looking at, IMO, they are FOS. I'm almost all the way thru the single player and this is one of the best games I've ever played. Addtionally, the MP is very true to the Q3/Q2 experience.....IT ROCKS!

It's simple, Quake 4, buy it for the multiplayer if you are a Quake fan. (Rocket Arena 4 and OSP will come soon/eventually i hope) If you're looking for a war sim fps, you don't know Quake or UT, move on to COD2. If you prefer the ice skating feel of UT, wait for UT2007.

Compared to Doom 3, though this Single Player mode was MUCH more enjoyable. My 1st fear was that it would be another "flashlight game" with a cheap scare around every corner. Totally different. Game pretty much picks off where Quake 2 left off.

I guess I'm gonna get a Special Edition sooner or later. Too many good games to play: FEAR, Fire Emblem Path of Radiance, Civilization IV (tuesday), Shadow of the Colossus etc

I think I'm about half way through so far and let me tell you....it gets pretty gruesome at this one part...i won't go into details, but you'll know when you get to it. Think lots of surgery.
