how much time do you guys space inbetween burning cds? i think i killed my last burner because i burned too many cds consecutively. i was thinking of spacing between burns like an hour. i killed one 12x10x32, don't wanna screw up my 32x10x40x
none. i've burned over 4000 cds with my 8x4x32 plexor and it was still burning like brand new up until i replaced it a couple of months ago with my 24x lite-on, which i have about 300-400 burns on already.
Wow, yall are flaming maniacs (in a burning cd's sense) I think as long as you have a good cd burner you can not burn to many cd's. I think operating it constantly instead of on and off on and off would make it last longer. Kinda like the leaving your pc on at night vs. turning it off. With burner prices so low and dvd burners becoming affordable i think that if your burner does crap out on you it would probably be time to upgrade anyways. just my 2 cents

Give it adequate ventilation. CD burner doesn't build much heat(which kills the burner) if its cooled sufficiently.

Try giving a drive bay open underneath the drive and pop off the open drive bay so the air can flow underneath it. It cools my HDD and CD drives real well that way.
