Yes. He considers it the keystone of his long-term strategery.

But only until Cheyney explains the 22nd amendment to him in single syllable words.

Oh, that's right, I forgot Bush is stupid. Too bad he's outfoxed the left.....doesn't say that much about your side now does it? The "Bush is stupid" campaign worked out so well after the first election.......don't give up on all that kinetic energy!

Quite comical, eh?

All these liberals running around calling Bush stupid, low IQ, etc. yet he manages to outfox those liberals on a regular basis.

I wouldn't give Bush any credit.... its Cheney and especially Rove who are outfoxing the Democrats.

"busted"? "exposed"? There were reporters there, nothing was being hidden, but continue to parrot this canard.

Yeah, you know how the mainstream media exaggerates. After all, they tried to turn a potty note from Bush in to a treasonous document being passed in to enemy hands.

The White House apparently intended the event to be a question-and-answer session with the soldiers, as Bush, adopting a folksy, informal manner, sought both to assure them of popular support and draw them out about their activities in Iraq.

But the troops, who sat in three tiered rows at their base in Tikrit, the hometown of deposed Iraqi president Saddam Hussein, took turns giving what appeared to be prepared statements that were not necessarily related to the questions Bush was asking.

When Master Sgt. Corrine Lombardo, of Scotia, N.Y., recalled Bush's visit to New York City following the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and thanked him for recognizing her unit's role in rescue efforts, Bush sought to engage her in conversation. "Were you there when I came to New York?" he asked.

"Yes I was, Mr. President," Lombardo said.

"Yeah, I thought you looked familiar," Bush said, adding, "I probably look familiar to you, too."

Lombardo went on to praise "a tremendous increase in the capabilities and the confidences of our Iraqi security force partners," and Bush told her, "I appreciate you bringing that up, Sergeant Major."

Asked if he had something to say, an Iraqi soldier identified only as "Sergeant Major Akeel" of the 5th Iraqi army division, answered, "Good morning, Mr. President. Thank you for everything, sir. Thank you very much for everything. . . . I like you."

Bush chuckled and said, "Well, I appreciate that."

Wow, pathetic. They hand pick some soldiers for their PR event. I'd love to see the same event with random soldiers, not neocon cheerleaders.

Didn't something like 70-80% of soldiers vote for Bush?

The only numbers I ever saw were that 70-80% of Stars and Stripes subscribers voted Bush. In my experince the only members who ever subscribed to S&S were the career military. Most of the people I knew and associated with during my 5 years od service were not republicans, but were also not lifers.

heh....staged? nahhhh..not bush!

t was billed as a conversation with U.S. troops, but the questions President Bush asked on a teleconference call Thursday were choreographed to match his goals for the war in Iraq and Saturday's vote on a new Iraqi constitution.
.....

A brief rehearsal ensued.

"OK, so let's just walk through this," Barber said. "Captain Kennedy, you answer the first question and you hand the mike to whom?"

"Captain Smith," Kennedy said.

"Captain. Smith? You take the mike and you hand it to whom?" she asked.

"Captain Kennedy," the soldier replied.

And so it went.

"If the question comes up about partnering _ how often do we train with the Iraqi military _ who does he go to?" Barber asked.

"That's going to go to Captain Pratt," one of the soldiers said.

You just aren't very bright, are you? The puppet doesn't need to be bright. It only needs to be compliant. The puppetmasters, on the other hand ...

Nice misdirection. The photo-op was what the public was meant to see, not the rehearsal.

I'm sure you think so. Denial can be a powerful drug. Keeps the drones marching in lock-step.

It seems that all access to Bush (in and out) is strictly controlled - does he ever answer questions directly?

He's screwed the day he is forced to answer a unfiltered question without anyone to make suggestions or told what to say. I wonder what goes through his mind.

"Paper or plastic?--which should I choose?"

 That's why there were REPORTERS there. Again you are trying to make more of this than was there. If it was supposed to be hidden and not "busted", then why the heck would there be REPORTERS there?
I don't understand how people make it through life without having even the most basic concept of logic.

LMAO. Here is some good stuff for those who care to see the truth and aren't falling over themselves trying to apologize yet again for this administration and their propaganda machine:

Flack the objective "soldier"

Click on the LISTEN link at the top in RED

Allison Barber's job is to coach the script:
BARBER:"If he(Bush) gives us a question that's not something that we've scripted.." Wha?? Hmm? Not something that we've scripted??? Say it isn't so Joe!

Amazes me that there is a faction in this country that still buy the lies.

And the lies keep rolling...

Pentagon communications aide Allison Barber ?insisted? to reporters that questions during President Bush?s photo-op teleconference ?were not rehearsed,? and that no ?specific questions? were prepared.

But then why was she caught on tape saying this as well?????:

BARBER: So here?s what you to be prepared for, Captain Kennedy, is that the president is going to ask some questions. He may ask all six of them, he may ask three of them. He might have such a great time talking to you, he might come up with some new questions. So what we want to be prepared for is to not stutter. So if there?s a question that the president comes up with that we haven?t drilled through today, then I?m expecting the microphone to go right back to you, Captain Kennedy, and you to handle [it].

Spin away. I'm not too sure but did Clinton need to have all interactions with citizens rehearsed and scripted like this president? What is it that Bush could possibly be afraid of? Being asked to tell the truth by someone speaking off script? I'll say it again, it amazes me that some people in this country still support this type of propaganda. Shame.
