Seems as though you didn't learn much. The ABM treaty with Russa got rid of most of the nukes that assured mutuial destruction of our countries along with the rest of the planet if we wanted. What Bush is proposing is for DEFENCE and not OFFENCE. The next time something like a plane gets turned into a missle wouldn't it be nice to have the ability to say SHOOT IT DOWN! Or maybe he is so smart like Regan that the illusion of "Star Wars" working would be enough.

One day mabey you will wake up and smell the coffee and thank Bush for it.

Well, using a C in offense and defense is perfectly acceptable, and are common spellings for the UK. And if you're going to critique someone's spelling, at least make sure your response is spelled correctly.

As for the missile defense system, just because past attempts have failed, we shouldn't keep trying?

Why do these things always turn into a Clinton versus Bush matchup?

They are both politicians. They are both sleazy bastards. That's the only way that they can get that far in the first place.

If I were to rank them in terms of their comparative sleaziness, Clinton wins by at least 2 lengths. Between Whitewater, Fornigate (including perjury), Travelgate, tampering with Foster's office (a crime scene), Filegate, and the Mesa affair (Arkansas), obstruction of justice in the Jones case... Clinton easily wins the contest. What he did here was wrong.

Would somebody out there like to tell me how Clinton's actions in the above situations were right? The only wisdom offered is that "everybody does it." That is not true. Not everybody. The average American does not do this. The average American might cheat on his wife, but the average American does not do what Clinton did in a little over eight years in office.

How can anyone compare Clinton's corruptness to Bush's? Bush is a choirboy compared to Clinton. Tell me how he isn't.

I expect my elected officials to be hypocrites. I don't expect them to be criminals - Clinton crossed the line.

Stop backing up these people when you don't know them. I mean *really* know them. Yeah, he was elected President. Personally, I'm satisfied with the job he's preformed in this (seemingly short) year in office. I will absolutely NOT compare him to Clinton, as they are two entirely different people with different reasons.

But don't compare apples and oranges. Bush still has three more years to do plenty of good things and plenty of bad things as well.

What do I think about this ABM treaty?

As far as I know, mutually assured distruction is:
a.) a rediclious concept
b.) quite outdated and hardly applicable

Not to mention that the ABM policy was to get the ball started, not to finish it. Russia has been rather cooperative over the last 5 years, I think, and it's commendable. Personally, I'm more afraid of what Russia is selling to other countries. Perhaps they could sign a treaty that disallows exports of biochem, etc... weaponry.

If you don't agree with me, that sucks for you. I don't always agree with myself

You moron, the NMD announcement came on the weekend, and the Bin Laden tapes were released on Thursday or Friday. The second isn't even *remotely* related to the first in any way, and the press and chattering classes were quite tired of debating the former by Friday anyways. Dumbass. Third, why the hell would Bush "hide" or try to "coverup" his ABM pullout? Delivering NMD was a major campaign promise that he made and he's obviously not shy about it if you've ever seen him or his administration talk.
