Something that is really obvious that most people never realize is that the hijackers on the planes didn't know what was going to happen until they had boarded. Osama said in one of those tapes that only the leader of each cell knew what was going on. The rest didn't even know it was a suicide mission until right before fact. If the people commiting the crimes didn't know until the planes were in the air, how was someone else supposed to stop them? If someone wanted to do it again today the only thing to stop them would be the mob of passengers on the plane, because now we know.

I've read they didnt "officially" know, but other reports seemed to indicate they informally knew they would ultimately matyr themselves. They just didnt know exactly how it would happen up until the end. Although thats still a very good point you make.

same thing as an armchair quarterback. People that think the decisions are easy and obvious because they have the benefit of hindsight. Of course. when they f*ckup its never their fault. These are the same people that blame everyone else for their own mistakes.

I would agree with an investigation into what intelligence was available and what was done with it. I would also investigate the role the Church amendment had on the whole affair. We have all this high tech intelligence which is good, but, it can't replace the value of owning a greedy little traitor in the ranks of Al Queda just because we don't want to hire "icky people".

As far as Dick Durbin and all the other members of the Senate intelligence committee, they should STFU. They are supposed to be in charge of the agencies involved. They should investigate their own sorry @sses, but, some little people will get scapegoated because the muckety-mucks need scapegoats.

This was the end result of years of complacency on the part of many administrations and politicians. Its the path our country has followed before and always ends the same. We get caught with dropped trou...

The link to the film in the post your link points to doesn't work.
Perhaps you could tell us what, exactly, Bush would have to gain from 'the incident'.

Before reading this thread, or watching the film 'above' I felt that Bush was behind 9/11 and the anthrax. He comes across as being a coldhearted liar in his speaches trying to act caring but that's not what comes across to me. For those who don't want to see the film; It pretty much shows how Bush's family was on the special antibiotic for anthrax 1 whole week before the attack. Any attempt to stop the incident would result in arrest. The Bin Ladens have been friends with the Bush's for 3 generations. Bush had a lot to gain by the incident.

Rice said the intelligence, tucked in a 1-page CIA terrorism report given to Bush during an Aug. 6 briefing while on vacation in Texas, mentioned bin Laden's al-Qaida network and "hijacking in a traditional sense" - not suicide hijackers slamming fuel-laden planes into American landmarks. She said the administration learned of increased threats of terrorism in May, earlier than previously disclosed.

taken off of iwon news.. doesnt say the news source.. but does it matter whether or not they knew the terrorists were going to use airplanes as weapons?

Has he started work yet ???

ok enough..

I think there is alot more to the 9-11 attack then the goverment is letting on..

One month before the attack Osma's group was in texas looking for Enron to build a oil pipline in Afganistan

If we know that group is sooo unstable why is the goverment letting them into the country ???

I know this did not make the headlines in the US. i saw it over at the BBC and CNN had Micheal Moore talking about it ( the funny part about moore talking about the CNN anocher said he never heard of such a thing moore responded i guess you need to take a look at the BBC or something like that
