While legislative office is surely better than a trial lawyer as prior experience qualifying one to hold the top executive branch office, it is a far cry from governor as commensurate experience qualifying one to hold the exact same position in the executive branch of a larger political unit (state vs. country). You do understand the difference between the executive and legislative branches of government, yes?

Yes, I quite understand the difference. Bush had a whole term and a half as Gov. of Texas. In that timeframe, what were his accomplishments? Bet you could count them on two fingers.

Also, Edwards is NOT running for President. He's the V.P. candidate. His resume was still better-looking than Bush's when comparing the two in their 1st runs at the Oval Office.

I think Bush's drinking and drug problems were more to blame than any "risk" in the business ventures.

Ok, well, whatever you "think"....

You do realize that you're comparing them head-to-head when in fact Edwards is a VP candidate not a Presidential candidate? Which makes the point of comparison moot.
