I don't argue with the numbers, but I just don't think that the president alone has such a huge effect on the economy. I really think it's the other way around - how the economy is going dictates who will be in office. Poor economy, incumbent gets booted. Good economy, incumbent keeps his seat. That doesn't mean that prosperity is because of the President's actions.

While I would agree that the President doesn't have much impact on the economy, the anti-Bush crowd is very fond of blaming him for the economy.
If they're going to blame him they should at least get their facts straight (and in context - Compared to their beloved Bill).
Only idiots would place blame for an economy on the president. The tech bubble's pop was predicted while Clinton was still in office, but he had nothing to do with it.

I agree completely. I didn't give Clinton credit for the Internet boom and I don't blame Bush the economic downturn due to the terrorists attacks on 9/11.Originally posted by: Triumph

I'm just wondering where the hell they got these numbers from, I mean, as long as we're into proverbial stats, shiet... might as well say California is once again the strongest economy in the world.

For some reasons, I thought surely something funny would pop up at the end, but I was gravely disappointed.
Facts? Where? Take a look around, how can you, or any one say that unemployment is down?Originally posted by: Mwilding

That - coming from one who spouts forth so much utterly obvious BS with no possible underlying fact - is such a lame response it is unanswerable....Originally posted by: cr4zymofoIf you, or any one who would believe anything the government and the media tells them, without questioning it, then who is really naive here?
