im not republican, not democrat, not independent. niether stand by the values I do. And yet they all stand by the values I do.
Bush definitly reminds of of Woodrow Wilson right about now, and that's a good thing. The general of the army has always wanted more troops over there, but bush and him dont think it would go over well with the public. and it wouldn't. everyone cries about war. Why is that? Why does everyone cry and say war is preventable? WAKE THE FVCK UP! War cannot be prevented, for as long as we are the species we are, and especially as long as we have the technology. If something happens and we go back to caveman-age, then we'll just pound fists. Not so bad. But that won't happen. Peace is only something that exists inbetween war, and is the goal of every war. Peace cannot be attained without a war to fight for it. Look at history, and you will see this to be proven true.

sorry, lil P&N rant... but this does belong in the P&N forum though.

i would have voted for Bush though had I been of age at the time. He definitly was the best choice, both in 2000 and 2004. None of here could handle the things he has to handle.
'sides, we all know (I hope) that a president is simply a tool and puppet of the government. He truely does not as much power as most of you liberal crybabies think he does. Read up on how the U.S. government works. (NOT on Democracy alone, maybe research Socialism and Federalism too... our government kind of mixes the better parts of the three.. maybe look up what a Republic is too, for that is what we are)

So when you going to enlist?

next year
airforce or army undecided, doing ROTC.. will be an Officer.. likely Military Intelligence
hope you weren't trying to insult me.. although you are probably under the assumption that anybody that thinks the way I do is a hick that lacks any real intelligence and will fit the 'typical stereotype' of a military recruit.
welcome to the real world, where even the smart serve in their countries military.. why? because i have the balls and pride to fight for pricks that disrespect our country and our president.
but, i hope you weren't one of those people.
i have pride in my country, and some very deep and strong patriotism. do you?

I think you are youthful and uninformed.

amen.

I'm afraid I must agree, and I was an active-duty military officer for six years.

I would have voted for someone else if I were registered. It was the first time I was old enough to vote, and I tried to register, but never got confirmation back. So I ended up not voting.

I like it when somebody makes a good point and then the other side deflects the question elsewhere.

Edit: What makes him youthful and uninformed? I was in the USAF for 6 years plus going on 10 years in the Army Reserves. Most of the people I have met in the service are more intelligent and motivated, then most of the drones I've meet in the private sector.

Look we know for a fact the military is filled with less educated people than people in the private sector. Where do they go recruiting? Oh right. Fahrenheit 911 shows how they recruit in run down neighborhoods like Flint, MI.

Why? Because sensible people who get 4 year degrees and later go into grad school have jobs secured where they will be making 6 figure incomes 10 years down the road....

I agree with your latter point 100%. In general I think military members operate on a higher level of civility and honesty than their civilian counterparts. That said, I don't agree, at all, that "destruktor" made a good point. He sounds like the kind of gung-ho, overexuberant teen that most of us were at one time, but he doesn't sound wise or well-thought-out in my opinion. He sounds to me like a partisan who's too young and too inexperienced to understand the pablum he's spouting. Maybe he'll be wiser after 4 years of ROTC, and maybe he won't, but then again most military members don't expect a lot of wisdom out of 2Lts.

Ahh yes....if it was in F/911 it must be true!

Actually, the military has some pretty high standards now compared to what it was years ago.

Yeah, I voted for Bush and I'd vote for him again if the alternate choices were Gore and Kerry.

Look I'm a Republican and I think Michael Moore is a fvcktard. But it is the truth that the military is recruiting from lower income neighborhoods. In the Clinton years, the Army failed to meet some recruiting quotas, and that's because of the economic boom. Does the military have higher standards compared to before? Yes. However, what kind of rich smart kid would really prefer going there? When you have the brains, the drive, the focus, you would be studying your butt off for MCATs and what not.

Do I love the soldiers fighting abroad? Yea? Are they my type of people? No, that's why I'm not in the military.

Wow, that's a really tough call. The choice came down to an ill-educated chicken hawk and a preening, posing Northeasterner who actually put his life on the line. Again, a tough call.

hmm... seems you're lacking the google abilities and mind to comprehend what I was attempting to explain. I'm not going to bother explaining again either. But realize that our country is niether a perfect government, nor is it a pure democracy/federalism. Research it yourself.

you may have a good point in that enlisted men don't typically think of 2lt's much at all... but thats what seperates a good leader from the regular ones. Starting off and earning the respect of your men is where you have to start. you just hope you dont have to do that in the middle of a battle, and rather have time at the barracks and PT.
and maybe I am gungho, but I have my reasons. One, patriotism definitly is showing itself. But mostly, its the experience earned from the military. And something I've wanted to do. To boil it down: my plans are to attempt to enter into a government career after I am in the service, and either be in some military intelligence field, or someone who researches atmosphere/science for the government.
my plans are well thoughtout, and its one of those things, you will never know me for who i really am through the internet. all of my plans have been in the making since i started highschool. and they aren't finished either.
