Yep. Now that the Bushwhacko administration is gone, we can focus on restoring the rule of law. That must include holding those traitors, murderers, torturers, war criminals, war profiteers and general incompetents responsible for their crimes.

So for years now you've been calling any poster who disagrees with you all sorts of nasty names and insisting that their failure to hold the Bush Admin accountable makes them even worse sorts of names.

Now we have a democrat president & congress who surely have the power to do just that. What will say you to those if they fail do do as you insist must be done???? Is there a new macro under development? What's an appropriate timeline to expect investigations to start?

They are accomplices to the crimes by failing to investigate and prosecute as their duty requires.

Accountability is the foundation of society. Harvey is right that people need to be held accountable. I think the dems are best served with an independent investigator that allows them to keep the whole investigation at arms length away from them. Every time the dems want to lynch a republican group of rule breakers it always seems to blow up in their faces.

To divide the nation in this way would be to do nothing more than extend the current anti-Bush climate and convert it into and anti-Obama climate.

Bush haters think that everyone hates Bush. The sad fact is, the majority of those that do not support him, still would prefer to not see the nation dragged through the mud.

There are people who respect the presidency and the rule of law; and those who respect the presidency and do not respct the rule of law.

If you respect boty, you understand that when the president breaks the law, the rule of law requires accountability, and prosecuting him does not disrespect the presidency

If you do not respect the rule of law, then you let the president violate the rule of law without any accountability, and the nation is greatly harmed.

What laws did Bush break?

That desire will get you nowhere my friend. Obama has himself moved on and remains entirely focused on our future. Like him, we need to learn from the mistakes of the past, but not dwell on them.

I know how badly you want to see Bush and Cheney hang, but it's not gonna happen bro... it's time to move on.

We can't "move on" without removing this horrible stain from our own history. This is NOT silently going away. :|

I think these clips from Hot Fuzz sum it up well:

Many people on both sides of the isle seem to think there reason to understand what is going, and rather believe what they are doing is for the Greater Good.

I don't "rally behind Bush," you twit. I'm VERY happy that he's out of office and that I no longer have to work for him! I just think that your negativity and obsessions with the past are counterproductive, and that they fly directly in the face of the "change" and "solidarity" we so desperately need in order to move forward into a successful and untainted future.

Then why didn't you deride Jonks for his negativity and obsessions with the past that drove him to create this thread, and instead jump on others for doing so?

You may not care to admit what you were doing there, but that is just being twitish, you fascist.

Get over it.

The good news is, your thankfully EX-Traitor In Chief and his criminal cabal are now gone. The bad news is, they didn't quit years ago. The worse news is, it will take generations to repair the damage he's done to the our nation and the world.

I won't get over it until that pissant weasel and his criminal gang are in prison. FUCK THAT TRAITOROUS POS!
Nice to know your care and feeding of your ulcer continues post 1-20-09

I don't know about you, but a murdering lying sack of shit getting off completely free of punishment drives me pretty nuts, too.

My very first post in this thread was to mock the OP for his own negativity and unhealthy obsession with the past.

Read much?

What I was doing where?! Fascist!? lol... you're ridiculous.

---

I have a feeling that many of you will be severely let down by the continued lack of investigations, charges, and arrests... Seriously, if that's what you are honestly "hoping" for at this time, you're screwed.

I read it, and you certainly didn't do anything to specify your comment was directed at the OP, while your "that's exactly what Obama is "hoping" for" suggested you were pointing the finger at his supporters rather than Bush's.

That speech is far too eloquently written to be spoken by Bush. Some of those words are more then four letters!

I'm often up for the long educational post, but come on. There are countless threads over the years listing them; Harvey has a 'macro' he's posted countless times.

There are whole books on the matter, a former United States Attorney General wrote up draft Articles of Impeachment listing some, google will find you a list easily.

For just a couple off the top of my head, his order for wiretapping was blatantly illegal, and there have been illegal actions ordered regarding prisoners, including torture.

Indeed, I heard in the news today that the UN is pressing the US to act against Bush and Rumsfeld for war crimes, as required by the law we signed.

Just keep beating that horse....

Its going to be hard to get over and/or stop beating the horse when we are CURRENTLY in a shitstorm caused by Bush's actions in the wrong places, and inactions, where actions were required. It will take a long time to dig out from this hole, and people have every right to be upset and vent all they want.

You people that voted for him TWICE need to get used to it. This is the mess you caused, now you have to eat the shit you put on all our plates. If you dont like it, thats just tough. None of us like where the country is, and you are the ones that got us here.

Thanks SOOOOO much for your vision. Now step aside and stop acting like it want YOUR ideology and policies that got us here.
