The staples web site does still say "processing" but I have called them and they confirmed it has been shipped and will be here wednesday. Maybe the web site has to say shipped before the ebates counts?? Maybe i should have left that popup open till after my purchase?? I dunno. Never used ebates before. I'm getting the feeling i lost this order on ebates

I wouldn't worry too much about it. The same thing happened to me when I made a big online purchase from Old Navy. The ebate eventually showed up on the website, but it took a little while.

EDIT: I just checked my mail this a.m. and I received my ebates. My order just "shipped" according to the website, so you assumption may be right.

Man staples just pissed me off. According to the web site it says it will be shipped via 2 business days. Isn't that ups 2-day air? I just got a tracking number for my burner since I still havent got it yet and the ups site shows it was sent ups-ground. I thought staples items are sent faster? Cause I know when I do pm's they always say I have to add in 2-day shipping service because thats what they ship theres in. Well thats a bunch of b.s because this drive was sent ground. I told the lady that on the phone but she said they always send the items out ground unless the delivery time is to lengthy in which case they choose a faster service. Well I placed my order last sunday and according to the tracking results I highly doubt it will be here today. This is the longest item i've had to wait for from staples. She gave me a number to customer relations or something like that, i'm planning on calling them up. I'm also planning on bitc*ing them out the next time they refuse a pm saying I have to choose 2-day air because thats NOT what they use. Thats just the amount of time they estimate ups-ground will take but in the end they themselves are using the cheaper service so I can't see why they would make me have to choose 2-day service from my pm. Maybe that site will make it here in 2-days using ups-ground. Kinda like the game staples is playing. Sorry, just felt like bitc*ing about this.

I think it all depends on the delivery time when you order. Of course on Sunday they got pounded with orders, so I'm sure their stock was depleted pretty quick. Anyhow, I think that they always use UPS ground, it's just that the shipping point from them to you is pretty close, thus it shouldn't take any more than a day or 2.

Got my burner today.. that was pretty damn quick. It is an Aopen rebadge, not a LiteOn. Just installed it and burned a CD @52x, it was incredible! (My old burner was a 4x) It kicks ass, especially for $10 AR!

Got Aopen's after ordering online. Went to Staples thinking I didn't stand a chance in hell of there being any Lite-on's left. Low and behold! 2 Lite-on's right up front! Got the attention of the nearest CSR...great guy too, I wish I had gotten his name (too excited about finding Lite-on's, I guess)...he said no problem. Anyway, don't bother going to the Medina, OH Staples. I got the last 2.

I was able to exchange for a Lite-on today, too.

Thanks for the tip. I probably would have just kept my aopen had it not been for everyone's advice.

I just picked up another one and the sale is still valid until the end of today. They had 3 at one store and 2 at the other and all were smartburn.

I received my burner yesterday (was the justlink one). Called the local staples and they said they don't stock any "buslink" burners. So I said the hell w/ it and opened the box and hooked it up. Seems to work ok. Loud as heck tho. Took just under 3min for a 650mb cd from an image I already had on the hard drive. The cd was a 40x cd so i assumed it only burned at that. Not sure yet if I plan on keeping that or my plextor 12x10x32. That plextor seems to copy about anything and is very reliable. It don't have mt rainer support tho, whatever that is.

I am guessing all on-line are justlink, not lite-on. STAPLES might do this in purpose since typically, lite-on drive $10 more than others (same speed), even for the same brand (You could find often, the same brand, MEMOREX, or BUSLINK, on shelf. Some $79.99, some other $89.99. those who don't know will pick-up the cheaper one. But you know, the expensive one is lite-on drive.
The last STAPLE on-sale, Staple won't lose profit. So it dumps all cheaper driver with the same brand. While on its website, it tries to screw-up you so it put a lite-on drive.... You know, ... all of us jump into ...

I got a justlink on-line. But I really don't want to go to store. on-line is convenient. Staple is taking advantage of on-line shopping.

What? The buslink boxes that the drive in are almost exaclty the same. The only difference is the smartburn or justlink logos on the front. The UPCs are exactly the same and so is the price. Staples doesn't have a clue to the different drives in the box. They just sell the buslink drive. Staples doesn't personally keep the smartburn models in the store and charge $89 for them. Most companies now will use different manufactures of the drives, ie liteon, aopen, benq for the same models. The only way to usually tell is by the serial number or if it says smartburn or justlink.

Your logic just sucks.

Online shipping centers usually have the freshest stock in the region so whatever the manufacturer is currently shipping is what you are likely to get.

UPS delivered drive today. It was Justlink like everyone elses. Took it to nearest B&M. Got Lite-On. Clerk didn't want to believe that Justlink and Smartburn were different, but he finally agreed to exchange the drive.

What's staples email address?
They can't put SmartBurn picture on their web site without any disclaimers then ship us all JustLinks.

We all know BUSLink company is known for making a few SmartBurns first in order to get good reviews then flooding the market with JustLinks but it's classic bait and switch when they show one thing and deliver another. This sucks because OfficeMax had $9.99 CDRWs that same week which are no worse than JustLinks.

The fact that there is no disclaimer regarding the illustration violates the following FTC law:

Nero says it's a 52X but when I put in my old Fuji TY blank CDR in to burn something it only allows me to select burning at 16X max and swithces the max burning speed of the recorder in properties to 16X as well.

Does Nero now have a new feature where it reads the media you insert and then automatically sets the max speed you can burn at by what it thinks your media can handle?

I plan to experiment later today and install an old version of Nero just to see if it'll allow me to select burning speeds higher than 16x with same media.
