no, not really, it is marketed as an healthier alternative to butter. I'll take butter thank you. Lard is also good

Prefer Butter too, but generally settle for Butter tasting Margarine. Mainly because of Cost, but also because of Shelf Life. My use of Butter/Margarine is too inconsistent and generally I just use it to Fry stuff.

I have a theory that margarine people are also more fond of miracle whip over mayonaise. Am I wrong? Oh and btw butter rules. The only time I ever used margarine I vomited. Ok that was a lie. I once used it to lubricate my hamsters exercise wheel so it would stop squeaking. He licked the margarine off and died almost immediately. Land o lakes and best foods ftw!

Anyone else whip heavy cream to use as butter? I don't use it all the time, but sometimes I like that creamy buttermilk flavor for stuff like bagels or raisin bread.

Margarine is hardly healthier than butter, more like the other way around.

I like butter, but the new soft margarine is "better" for you (it's still loaded with saturated fat though).

Yes really. Marketing and reality are disparate objects. It's less than half the cost.

Butter, but that shit is so hard to handle if it's fresh out of the fridge. Cause of this, I usually use margerine. I still cook with it though, love the taste. Too bad it's got trans fat.

butter, but my wife likes margarine and she buys the groceries. i have to admit that i like the taste of the healthy choice margarine that she buys.

FUCK MARGARINE.. like throwing lard on ham and telling me it bacon. what kind of name is margarine anyway. what the hell is going on in this world that we have these imitation butters with weird names doing nothing but ruining our toast, WHAT KIND OF WORLD IS THIS?!?!?!

I used to eat only butter, and more over the summer. Then my doctor said he wanted to put me on statins and I stopped butter cold. I haven't bought any margarine yet or similar pseudo butter, but I don't know if I'm going to buy any more butter. It's been mainly olive oil in terms of fat for me that I add to food in my kitchen. I cut out cheese too. Two months later my blood cholesterol had dropped like a stone.

butter for baking/cooking... vegetable oil spread for everyday use, but there really is no "everyday use" for me. haven't eaten anything along the lines of bread and butter in a long time.
