Hi there, im going to get a new video card, but Im not sure wich one would be the best choice:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...aspx...N82E16814161218 (140 us) HD3870
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...aspx...N82E16814131095 (for ONLY 90 dolars, why that cheap?) HD3870
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...aspx...N82E16814150272 for 130 dolars (8800GT

or a 9800GT for 130 dolars
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...aspx...N82E16814130380
I think that the best choice would or the 9800GT or the 8800GT (because is really cheap)

What would you recommend me?

Greetings from Chile
Bz.

beat me to it. you can actually get a 4850 for about $130 after rebates.

i just ordered a 3870 for $60, but newegg seems to be out of stock right now. if you are able to get one that cheap, i would go for the 3870 since its less than half price of the others. if you can only find it for $90 and you can afford the extra $40, i would definitely go for the 4850 since it is a pretty significant step up from all of those cards you listed.

id put it like this 4850 > 9800gt > 3870 >= 8800gt

You put it wrong. The 9800 GT is an 8800 GT with a different name. Other then this, it has the same number of shaders, ROPs, texture units and the same clock speeds. The only noticeable difference is, that some 9800 GT are made on 55nm , while others are still on the 65 nm. But this only translate in a possible lower power consumption and NOT into higher performance over the 8800 GT.
And so, the 8800 GT is faster then a 3870, hands down. This ATi card is only comparable in terms of performance with a 9600 GT. Is still far away from an 8800 GT.

What about the 4830? I assume it's a little higher than the 3870, if not right on the 9800GT.

Generally it's like this:

4870=GTX260
4850=9800GTX+
4830=9800GT (the same as 8800GT)
3870=9600GT
4670=9600GSO

Obviously some games run faster on one or the other. But this is a "generally speaking" list (ie. GPU power categories). The higher on the list, the faster the card. Someone pinch in for confirmation

What are you confused about? It's already been stated that they're roughly equivalent. Hence their price being nearly the same.

between the 4830 and 9800GT, get the 9800GT, even though they are about the same.

edit: spelling.

This comes down to your personal decision: which do you think it had better drivers, or what you like more: Nvidia or ATi, since both cards perform the same and they cost toughly the same. Of course, that if one is quite cheaper then the other, then that's the one to get.

I personally would go with the 4830 over the 9800 GT. Its true they're roughly equivalent in gaming performance, but the ATI 48xx series has been shown to take much less of a hit when AA is enabled. Furthermore, with the 4830, you can have audio output over HDMI without any hassle, unlike the 9800GT. I've also heard that the 4830 is an extremely overclockable card, and can fairly easily be overclocked to almost 4850 levels of performance. Finally, the 4830 just has more features, like DX 10.1 support
