I'm pretty new to computer hardware, but I'd like to take a challenge. Just ordered this processor and I plan to build a computer by myself. Now I'm going to buy

(1) motherboard
(2) fan
(3) keyboard and mouse
(4) Hard drive
(5) Monitor
(6) CD and floppy driver (If I have CD writter, do I need to buy CD driver?)
(7) modem and ethernet card, sound card, video card?

I'm sure I miss something. I'd appreciate if anyone can point out to me. I plan to spend $600-$700, can I build up a pretty computer? Thanks.

Money/Performance-wise... is this Celeron II 566 FC-PGA for $80.95 a better deal than the PIII 700 for US$215 from Onvia.com?? How do they perform AFTER you overclock them?? THanks!

Ok up and running at 850MHz at 1.60 volts Have not tried any higher yet Using Abit BH6 version 1.0 with QN bios and MS-6905 Master. The only problem I found with the MS-6905 Master is it has 3 resistors that get in the way when you plug it into the motherboard, those plastic things attached to the motherboard need to be trimmed some then the CPU locks in ok. Oh btw I also have the IN-WIN A500 case, not much clearance between the power supply fan and converter, maybe 1/4 inch.

O.K. UPS delivered my Celeron at work today, and delivered my new MSi-6163PRO motherboard for my new Celeron to my house-except when I opened the package, a new MSI-6195 was inside. The sent me the wrong board. It is an Atlon MB.(List price about $35 higher, actually).

Funny thing is, buy.com doesn't even carry this board.

Anyway, if I call buy.com to get them to send me the right board, I fear my use off the $50 of $50 will jump out at them, and they will modify the sales price. But, hey, I can't use this board.

Anybody else have experience with incorrect shipments from buy.com?
Advice?

Got my C2 earlier today but my MSI 6905 v1.1 doesn't recognize it...BUMMER! Now if I could only find the MSI FCPGA converter. Anyone know who has it??

It looks like I'm going to need to call Buy.com and bitch. I ordered one of these Saturday night with overnight shipping so I expected it Tuesday. Wednesday has just come and gone and still nothing. I ordered it overnight for a reason since it stated it was instock. My plan for studying for my CNA for Netware 5 this weekend has just been blown out of the water. Like I'm going to study if my cpu shows up.
