Hi

I currently use Windows 98 SE, and it works ok. I want to upgrade it but I don´t know if I skould wait for Windows XP or upgrade the os directly to windows 2000. Any advice?

I'd say go for Win2k. It's what I'm using right now.

On a sidenote, Win2k is NT 5.0 and XP is NT 5.1. It's not a really big difference thus, except for the added 'features'.

You won't have to deal with WPA either with Win2k and most of the bugs in Win2k have already been ironed out, unlike XP.

Don't upgrade. Stick with what works Of course if you have to, or just can't controll the urge, go with XP, I mean 2000, I mean go back to 95. Sorry, 2000 for sure .

What ever you do be sure all your components are compatable. I went from ME to 2k and love it. I still have 98se on a 2nd computer for older games.

another vote for 2k...I use it at home and also have a test machine for xp...when the flash wore off and the lack of memory kicked in I am, at the end of the day, more impressed with 2k...Just my opinion tho.

Definately 2000 over XP.
I won't cut & paste again, but go look for my posts in one of the recent "will you move to XP" threads.

Win2000 is a good OS, WinXP took that good OS and screwed around with it a bunch. WinXP is still better than Win98/ME, but it's not as good as Win2000.

Win2000 is the best OS Microsoft has ever produced, and from the looks of the way they are going, it is likely the best OS they will ever produce.
