Question Buy today Samsung 870 evo?

Hello friends, has anyone bought the Samsung 870 Evo 1 tb this year with a manufacturing date of 2023 and the disk has failed? Do you recommend buying this drive today with new firmware and manufactured in 2023? With the new firmware the disk is slower or faster? Thans you.

SSD can fail anytime. I got a Sandisk 240GB failed just over a year in use (internet surfing only) a few years back for no reason.

I got a WD SA510 Blue 512GB that slowed down to a halt just a month ago (just 8 months in use) that I have to download a firmware to fix it.

If an SSD failed, it just failed. Even name brand. Just RMA it.

Just back up your important data to another drive regularly. Usually you have no way to rescue your data if an SSD fails.

I got a 512GB 870 EVO after WD SA510. Don't know how it will fare.

If you have suspicion for 870 EVO, get Crucial MX500.

I got a 1TB. No issue so far.

Why are you considering the 870 EVO? It is usually higher priced than alternatives.

Sandisk is crap brand. WD is again the same thing since WD's SSD operations are run by the monkeys from their Sandisk acquisition. Next time, try Silicon Power or Crucial or Kingston.

Well, it was a name brand. Of course not anymore. It developed the first 2.5" SSD though.

Will not touch it again. Probably WD too.

Friend because I want to have another ssd and samsung is an excellent brand despite the recent problems that several ssds have had.
