meh, looked at the used and they're $100. better off getting the $149 bundle from sam's club that comes with two games.

i used to see wii bundle deals all the time. now that i want one, nothing appears to be on sale. fffffffff

edit: found the black wii with super mario bros for $129 at target. guess i'll get this, mario kart, 3 extra remotes, and 4 wheels so that we can all play together

Most of my family prefers to use the remotes without the wheel so I wouldn't get them unless they're cheap.

You should really get a used one. The lowest you can get it for while still being reasonable is $80 w/ 1 controller. I bet you can find a bundle for at most $130 w/ games.

This.

We have all 3 consoles. The Wii gets the most playtime by my son and his friends by far. (He's almost 9.) The Wii is really cheap and there are a ton of games out used you can get for a song.

I'd get a refurb from Gamestop or similar that has GC compatibility because there are a lot of good GC titles out there if you can't find a bundle with it.

I have a different view from my family. I have a 9 year old and an 11 year old. They don't like the games as much on the wii as they do on the 360. They mainly play guitar hero, the halos, some other misc games, but they also have computers in their rooms as well. They dislike how imprecise the wii controllers are compared to the xbox 360 and also like the kinect better.

I would pick up the Wii to play Xenoblade Chronicles but I am ADULT. If your kids really want one get it. The Wii U could cost HUNDREDS more. And may have no good games a launch....

What's wrong with buying it to play a game that you're interested in. Okay, maybe there's something wrong with buying it to play one game that you're interested in.

It's a little late to warn you (okay, like a month too late ), but that smaller Wii does not play Gamecube games. I was interested in getting it as well, but I was rather turned off by the fact that they removed Gamecube support, released it at the same price, and it's not even smaller!

The chances of me playing a Gamecube game are small (I've never played any, so I'd "need" to play the Zelda games I suppose ), but I'm running out of room in my entertainment center, damnit! I would prefer it if the console that they removed physical features from (i.e. the gamecube controller ports) was actually smaller because of it.

I was just saying as an older person she or him might want to play Xenoblade Chronicles or EVEN skyward Sword and any OTHER game a older person person may have interest in including fitness programs etc...
