A refurb would be fine; if it doesn't work you get a rebate, and if it does, then it's likely to be as good as new. Something that small with no moving parts doesn't really have the capacity to be flakey.
Word. $100.00 might be too low, I might start to think about considering it at half that price. Or not really. I see no real need for 64-bit desktops. Buy the time software is out, the prices should have dropped a bit. (Yes I am aware of the benefits of even running 32-bit apps on the 64-bit system. I don't see the need for it, as my system is plenty fast enough)
