Buyer bought wrong book from me on Half.com, what should I do?

They bought the regular book when they wanted the lab manual, but my listing was under the correct title with an extra description that left no doubt (or should have) what book they were getting. On half.com you don't really specify a return policy, so I was wondering what I should do. I have bought wrong books before, and when I knew it was MY fault, I just resold it and took the small ~$10 hit. I figured why should the seller waste their time and money on MY mistake.

Anyone have this happen before? Any advice? I have 101 ebay feedbacks and over 98% rating so rather not mess that up either though.

Well in anycase, i would give them a refund, minus shipping fee, AND the book is still in the original condition when you ship it out.

Offer to refund it, but they have to pay for shipping + any other half.com fees you incurred? Point out that your book was accurately described.

yes, your feedback from Half.com is linked to your Ebay account..since Ebay owns both of them now.

I would personally give them a refund less shipping fees and make sure they pay return shipping. Politely tell them that the item was accurately described and you will not be held liable for shipping costs due to their mistake.

It's basically up to you- either refund them or tell em to shove it.

Had that happen to me with a video game. Buyer decided "he didn't want it" after it had already shipped. I told him tht he could return but his refund would be minus shipping fees and half.com fees. He ended up keeping it.

Just make sure you don't refund them until you have the book back in your possession to make sure they send the right thing back and didn't damage it at all.
