Anyone notice since negative feedback got removed for buyers that it's filled with people with nothing better to do than bitch and moan and expect service better than amazon.com at 1/3 of the price?

Seriously, I have someone who bought a $24 jacket bitching that they didn't receive it yet. The auction ended October 4th!!! I told them to go get a hobby and wait. Probably going to neg me for it but whatever, I've had it. Place is filled with retards.

It's true. Someone bought a DVD from me that lived in California, shipping listed as Media Mail, on a Friday at midnight. Sent me an e-mail, pissed off next Friday that it hadn't arrived.

People sure do feel I must be a bigshot that can pull strings and make miracles happen with these $2-3 DVD's...

It's why some people aren't fit to run a business, telling off customers is a sure sign.

"The customer is always right" is not guaranteed.

I am a pretty big seller on ebay and some of the demands are just too great. I have no problem telling them I am not the seller they should be buying from.

My items are fairly priced, come in better than described condition, and with exactly what is in the auction.

My biggest problems were with one buyer that insisted I go with his shipping method after buying (we wanted to bill a 3rd party shipping code in a different state even) and another buyer of a cell phone that I stated what it would come with and included pictures and he insisted that a charger should be an 'automatic' item that comes with a used phone.

my only two negs.

my bro sold some guitars for a friend of his, and every sale was a pain in the ass because of impatient or griping buyers. my bro was at work when an auction ended on evening (he cooks nights) and checked ebay when he got up the next morning.

the guy had paid, then wanted to reverse payment because he hadnt gotten an email in 12 hours that the funds were good and the item would be shipped at whatever point.

I had a buyer pay with a money order just recently, and he put my ebay name on the money order instead of the legal name I gave him. Bank wouldnt let me cash it as expected.

I received some money orders in the past from buyers that were blank in the info area, like they couldn't figure out how to fill it out.

I get praised for my fast shipping. I hate waiting for things so I have the courtesy to get my ass to the post office ASAP.

Unfortunately, there's retarded sellers as well. I'm still waiting on an item that I paid for back on the 28th of September. It's a sew-on patch, probably ~3.5 to 4 inches in diameter, and should be something easily sent first class mail, which should have been here no later than the first of this week, imho.
I haven't checked the mail yet today, but if it's not there, I'll be contacting the seller with a great big WTF??

Oh yeah, and sellers that have rock bottom selling prices, and uber-high shipping, ought to banned from ebay for life!

have you reviewed the TOS for sellers and shipping? Did your seller specify anything different?

Most would be surprised to know how long a seller really has (or a buyer) to complete a transaction.

Most should stick to WalMart for their 'deals' as well.

It's funny to see Americans having issues with other impatient Americans. Most of the American buyers are great, but some are just out of their freaking minds. I had one lady file a paypal dispute after 4 days. I'm in Canada, even if we didn't have one of the shittiest postal systems in the world, there is now way in hell it could get there that fast. My latest neg came from a guy who only wanted to pay for the cheapest shipping, which Canada Post says will take 6-12 days to get there. It got there on the 12th day and he negged me. Awesome.

The USPS within the states must be crazy fast, because a lot of these buyers expect stuff to arrive the next freakin day.

What's the rationale behind disallowing neg feedback for buyers?

BTW this is the beauty of living in a small country with a good postal system. If I win an auction on our ebay equivalent, it will normally arrive 2-3 days later.

Some people have ridiculous expectations for shipping, though. I mean it's always nice when a seller gets something shipped out fast (everybody hates waiting for their new gadget to show up, lol), but a lot of sellers on eBay aren't running a business. I understand that people have lives that don't revolve around the items they've sold on eBay and it might take them a bit to get stuff shipped out. A lot of people also can't seem to wrap their head around the idea that once you've dropped it off at the post office, it's out of your hands. If USPS is the one dragging their ass, that's not really the seller's fault and there's nothing they can do about it.

Mike: The idea is that buyers will be more honest about their experience with a seller if they don't have to worry about receiving retaliatory negative feedback. Sounds good in theory, but unfortunately some buyers are just idiots, and without the ability to give them neg or neutral, this won't be reflected in their feedback.
