Buying a bidet today

I religiously shit 2-3 times a day. When I am not in my home bathroom, like when I am at the office, I bring baby wipes with me to the mens room.

those are horrible for the environment and wreak havoc on plumbing. This is far far worse than having to wash your hands.

I never flush the baby wipes. I had to snake a sewer line at one of my rental properties and it was baby wipes that clogged the line. At work, I throw my used wipes in the trash basket.

Looks like this one has good reviews. I don't have a hot water source running to my toilet and its in a far corner of the master bath in its own area with a door, so cold water will have to do. I recently saw a few stories, one on reddit, that talked about the unflushable wet wipe problem and the issues its having with town sewer systems. Going to give it a try and if I don't like it, its only $35.00.

Anyone here use one regularly? I imagine it will cut down on TP use as well for us. I'm not sure I can get my sons sold on it so for now, it will be a master bathroom thing.

Obviously these Trump supporters that associate a "bidet" with having gay anal sex must secretly be into scat and just like dirty butt... And obviously never even seen a bidet, because typically they do not come equipped with a douche hose, which is what you do to clean out for anal, not just spray it down with water and pat dry. And douching only requires bottled water, not a bidet...

Not sure how I missed this the first time around but I've had one of the Luxe models for ~18 months now. It is wonderful and we Americans have all been lied to our entire life about what proper bathroom hygiene is.

The one downside (and it is substantial):

You won't have one when you travel, and you will miss it dearly. Every single restroom you encounter will be far inferior to what you're used to. I've actually bought them for family members under the guise of changing their life (and they love it as much as I do) but if I'm being completely honest it's at least partly so I don't have to do without when I'm on that side of the country.

Charmin does nothing but leave shitloads of little cotton pieces everywhere it roams. I actually swear by Cottonelle because it doesn't leave stuff everywhere.

You are drying your now cleaned ass (with soap and water) after using the bidet. Its the same as using a towel after a bath/shower. Its not like you are substituting a towel for TP immediately after a bowel movement.

Ok I see now the difference. I grew up with European type bidets where you get off the toilet and move to a separate plumbing fixture where u can wash with soap/water. Use a normal bath towel to dry off.

Sounds like you are talking about the Japanese types that give you a squirt of water as you sit on the toilet. If I were using the Japanese type, no way would I dry my ass with a towel. You have to use TP. If you wipe that leaves behind bits so instead I dab to mop up the water.

You dab instead of wipe since your ass is already clean.
