Buying a new TV

I intend to buy a new TV in the next few days and I would like some recommendation. The purpose of the TV is to be in a living room. The living room is very bright, with large windows covering all the wall, and the TV will be at approximately 16 ft from the couch. I would live a TV with the appropriate size and features for this kind of room. As I live in Brazil, I have far more limited choices than in the U.S., and at a much higher price (due to abusive taxes). As TVs are not small enough to pass through customs offices without being noticed, I will have to settle with whatever is available here. I was thinking of one of the models described below. They may be budget models, and perhaps not among the best, but they all cost north of USD 1,000 here, so I will stick with one of them unless I have good reason to buy something else.
  • 65-inch Samsung NU7100 or RU7100: I suppose these two models are very similar, and they both come with a VA panel (better blacks).
  • 65-inch LG UK6530 or UK6540: I suppose the UK6500s are very similar, as I could not find any difference between them. These ones come with an IPS panel (better viewing angles, poorer blacks).
  • 65-inch TCL P65US: I included this one here because it is around 10% cheaper than the Samsung and LG models above, but I am not sure how good it is.
  • 55-inch Samsung Q60: This one is a QLED TV, which I found impressive due to the bright colors. The downside is that this one is a smaller model.
I should basically choose whether to buy a 65-inch TV with a VA or IPS panel or a smaller 55-inch QLED TV (and trade screen size for supposedly better image quality). OLED TVs are considerably more expensive than QLED TVs, and they did not seem that much better when I saw them at a store. There are other brands available, such as Sony, Philips or Panasonic.
So, any specific recommendation? Thanks.

I think the P series TCL might be better rated than those samsung and LG models anyway. The smaller QLED is not worth it, especially at a distance of 16 feet.

If you haven't bought yet, you can get the Samsung Q60 in a 65 inch. Here it is for $1200:

Frankly, I wouldn't really bother with the Q60 series of Samsung, the line just sacrifices too much for price point for my taste.

For instance, the Q60's use an edge LED backlight with no local dimming, rather than a full-array backlight with local dimming. Also been noted the Q60 series' HDR is very limited in effectiveness and their viewing angle is the narrowest of the Samsung Q line of TV's.

I'd at least consider moving up to the Q70 series--it has full-array backlight with local dimming and better functioning HDR. The Q80 and Q90/900 have even more effective local dimming with an increase in the number of dimmed zones as compared to the Q70. HDR effectiveness gets better with the Q80 and above, too. Viewing angles are much better than the Q60 series, too.

But your money, spend as you see fit. Personally, I'll take picture quality over size almost every time.

I own last year's Q9FN set, so I know what you are saying. However, where are you getting a 65" FALD set for $1200?
