We forgot you're in with 'the Zuck' now. Only top notch shit for this dude. I don't blame you when you're interviewing for that 15m/year position!! Also noteworthy is the 5'-9", 120 lbs bit. You may want to think about spending $50 on a decent steak as well. You can't be Mr. Bossman looking like a god damn shrimp.

He didn't understand that Fruit Loops are PART of a complete breakfast.

I think they do, you just pull it off the new "Working Class Steve" Cabage Patch kid doll.

Funny enough, I live in a pretty hick part of CT relative to what most people view CT as. In fact, besides the few ghetto cities and the ritzy parts near NYC, most of CT and even RI is pretty much like upstate New York. Except we can actually carry guns on us

B ) <--- deal with it.

I'm not sure really sure what I view CT as. My exposure there has been 1) getting drunk in Hartford for a Tom Petty show. 2) driving through it via I95, Rt 15, I91 & I84 to get to a bachelor party in NH.

Said bachelor party is for the poor old soul tying the knot on Saturday. I'll be heading through CT again via that same route on Sunday with everyone else traveling back home after Thanksgiving. It's going to suck ass. D:

don't buy a regular old run-of-the-mill suit, you'll send the wrong message

buy a full-blown tux and blow everyone's mind

take your sweeper and trashcan with you too to make a lasting impression

lol internet has been won by you this month.

CT is a very interesting state. You can see ghetto's, ritzy multi million dollar mansions, hick city camo people and the ocean, all within about a 1.5hr drive.

It's like all of American summed up in one overly expensive state.

Why? That was the style back then. Big and bulky.

All you kids want anymore are these tight fitting suits that show off your butt. Why? You're not going to a disco!
You're right. I have to do a better job of following trends.

Yeah, most people don't realize that. CT is viewed as some super-rich place hidden behind trees, but really there's just a few expensive cities & the rest of the place is regular 'burbs or the dumps (I can say that because I've lived in some of them haha). Parts of Hartford are pretty crummy, but amazingly you can drive through the whole thing in about five minutes lol, so it's nothing like LA or even parts of Michigan are.

Actually that's one of the things I love about living here, other than the seasons - NYC is 2 hours from me, Boston is 2 hours from me, beach (albeit, meh) is an hour, plus I can go to Mass/Jersey/Vermont/NH/Maine same-day if I want to get away for the weekend. Plus (typically, had a few minor ones in recent memory) no major catastrophes (hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, etc.). Only real downside is that everything is stupid expensive and they tax you on my gosh EVERYTHING. Own a car? Car tax. Lease a car? Too bad, car tax. Candy bar? Food tax. Potholes in the road fixed? Nope!

^ So the best thing about Connecticut is that you're only a couple hours from a bunch of great places not in Connecticut?:hmm:

This sums up my discontent perfectly. Near enough where if I go somewhere cool, it's still inconveniently far. Want to go to a city with actual humans in it? 60 minute drive. Want to go to a movie theatre that actually isn't a run down shit hole? 30 minutes. Live 10 minutes from the coast but want to go to a beach that actually has real sand??? 45 minutes.

A couple weeks back I went and bought a suit, an extra sport jacket, a couple shirts, a couple ties, and a tie clasp. Took a couple weeks for all the alterations, and cost more than my first car. If I don't look fantastic, I know a salesmen that's going to have a very bad day.

Mountains? How's the skiing?

Every state in the country is like that... billionaires and multi-millionaires living within 10 minutes of homeless people living in cardboard boxes and burned out abandoned buildings. Homeless shelters a block from stores selling $15,000 watches and $1000 handbags.

Go to a quality suit maker and try it on in person. If this is your first major suit purchase, you really must try a few types / models to see what works for you. And do not skimp on the necessary alterations.

If you want to buy online, I'd suggest only doing that after you've tried on the suit you are looking for first.

You also tend to get what you pay for: full canvas > half canvas > fused generally, but you don't need a full canvas suit for day-to-day.

There is a medium between these tight suits that seem to be popular for some reason, and baggy ill-fitting suits.

I'm guessing you wished you didn't buy it online after all. I mean that is the only logical conclusion.

Unless you already have a suit that fits properly you will need to get you actual measurements for everything. Even with proper measurements given you will likely need to get it tailored to some extent as well. As for those shoes and that shirt, unless as pointed out you are wealthy and or will wear them a significant port of the time, you can get things that look nearly identical for ~1/5-1/10 the price...

The AE's are worth the cost if you actually wear dress shoes all day every day.

Mm, not really. I couldn't afford in person prices for what I'd want. It's alright. I could get a better fit by having them remake it but only so much so. The pants are too wide in the waist by about an inch and a half. Which is quite significant but can be tailored a bit and then I can hope to 'grow' into it. The rest of the ensemble is also a bit too wide in the waist because of that but otherwise decent. This comes down to probably how they took my waist measurements. The measurement I was giving them felt large. Now I know.

On top of that, armholes could be higher. Shoulder width of the coat is slightly long. Arm freedom is severely restricted while in the coat and shirt and, really, only a $2000+ bespoke suit is going to fix that. In what I mean by that is this: http://masculine-style.com/jacket-armholes/ You can see how the guy in black and white has a perfect looking suit while the dude below is probably the worst possible example of what I'm experiencing. Mine isn't really that drastic but it does exist. There's a lot of contributing factors as to what will cause that kind of action but, really, again, bespoke is likely the only way to fix that. It's an annoyance if you plan to dance or do athletic movements with the jacket on.

That said, suit is okay. I think the second one I buy will be much better.

I don't know if your city has one but Atlanta has suitsupply. You can get a bespoke-like experience at a lower cost (choose your fabric, colors, multiple measurements / fits). The lower end suits are like $400 - 500 (indochino prices) and the more expensive ones are $1300ish. Can try it out in person and actually feel the fabrics. The top of the line tailoring costs money ($400 - $1000 but worth it if you're going to buy multiple suits instead of one). The better deal in Atlanta though is TRIO: http://www.triocustoms.com/ (quality fabrics and tailoring isn't extra, great prices).

None of that sounds alright. A 400 dollar suit from a suit store would have zero of those problems. What an epic failure.

srs. I just bought a Calvin Klein suit "on sale" at Macy's during black Friday for $280 and it fits me like a glove. Might need minor tweaks here or there, but I don't have any of these huge issues.

Another noob move by Tridunce.
