Buying a torque wrench

Any reason I shouldn't buy this torque wrench?

It only has a 90 day warranty, some of the more expensive ones you can find with a 1 year warranty (I guess from Snap-On, etc), but that seems par for the course thus far.

Any suggestions?

for home use (infrequent) , it is fine

Maybe once a month, but I'm doing some major suspension work soon and will definitely need it then.

I got one of these from amazon for about $35. Seems good enough for light use

We bought a similar model from sears, works great for most of the things you need to do. It's not very accurate at lower torque settings, I was trying to do 25lb/ft and I know I was pushing it more and it wouldn't click.

You might want to test it out when you get it home because the first one we bought didn't work.

Don't use that junk to build engines. If you actually need a torque wrench then you need to buy a good one and the ones from Sears do not qualify. I threw mine in the trash.

You can rent torque wrenches and other tools for free (deposit) at places like autozone.

If you need it once, rent it. If not, I bought a Husky torque wrench from Home Depot that has held up well. I have a 1/2" and 3/4" drive, the latter bought used. The most important thing is to store them per the instructions, its worth the time.

And if you're building an engine or something, get it calibrated first.

I wouldnt recommend that. Imagine the abuse its recieved. Doubt its still accurate.
