That is so awesome you drive a base level Ford Focus, manual even!

You should be part of Ford’s Focus group (see what i did there) to remind them not everyone wants to buy a luxory SUV/Truck

Glad you got the manual! The autos in the Fiesta / Focus are too troublesome (so many stories on the internet / forums)

The Focus 3cyl Ecoboost comes with a normal 6AT, not DCT. it's an option for folks who like the Focus but don't want to deal with the DCT issues.

The Focus was on C&D's 10 Best list for 2012 & 2013.

Isn't the current year 8 speed auto just a normal automatic? Just need to wait two years for those to only be worth $10k used. I knew about the DCT issues but I specifically wanted a 5 speed stick anyway.

My son had a focus of that era, dont remember the exact year. He had the sporty model (ZX3??). I drove it a few times. It handled well and was quick, but the clutch engagement seemed really touchy. Only manual trans that I ever drove that I could not get the hang of. Stuttered and stalled it on take off. Maybe just lacked low end torque. I thought he made a mistake when he traded it for a Kia Borrego. His was a sedan, but I was seriously considering the wagon, until they totally redesigned it before I was ready to buy.

The ST trim back then had a 2.3L with 160 lb ft of torque. It had a great torque curve compared to the 2L in my new 2015. I never stalled the old Focus but the new one bogs down and is easy to stall. Ford's 2L has been around a while and is totally gutless.
