Buying new case, need advice...

Hi everyone. So I decided to drop the Lian-Li PC-V355 and purchase another case. Budget is around $100 -$120. I was looking at the Fractal Arc Mini, does anyone have any experience with this case or can anyone recommend something else?

Do you have to buy a microATX tower? Antec P280 is $80 AR AP at the moment, can reuse if you decide to buy an ATX mobo later

Tbh I'd just get Arc Mini if I was on the hunt for a new MicroATX case. Has all the features of a mid tower but takes less space

So you plan on using a video card?
Are you looking for a case that is narrow or not as deep or what? Some cases are smaller but dont have many fans or are short but not small, or only fit a single slot video card.

I have been thinking of something like this if I had the cash but actually it is an ATX case designed with a front mounted power supply. I kind of wonder if it makes a lot of noise.

Or do you want something like the style with a side loading 5.5 drive?
Example:http://www.directron.com/s0430dt.html
If you use a case like this it uses a bottom mounted flex power supply like they use in rack servers. But when you put it on its side the power supply is on the bottom. Kind of limits you for power supply options, and you have to use slim video cards.

Silverstone TJ08-E. There is no other case that I would want if it is specifically for a mATX and I have the spare money for it.

I went ahead and ordered the Silverstone TJ08-E. Originally it was between the Arc Mini and the Silverstone, your link made me rethink my choice. I had it right the first time choosing the TJ08-E. I hope it's all it's cracked up to be. The reviews are really good...

Nice, clean build . I'd put the front intake in the lower slot to supply more air to the GPU. The CPU is already well cooled by a Noctua HSF and two exhausts nearby.

Yeah, lol! I went back to the Arc Mini.

I got my R4 yesterday. Getting the HR-02 Macho tomorrow. I will have to wait until this weekend to move everything over and it's hard! The only thing I could do is remove the top drive cage.

How do you like it so far?

Good stuff. I love the case. A few gripes, the rubber grommets come off easily when trying to manage cable, side panels pop off easily when the thumb screws are removed. So many more pro's than con's though. The case is easy to work in despite the "mini" nomenclature.

I picked up a Corsair H100 yesterday at Micro Center. OC'ed my Intel 3820 to 4.3 and temps idle at 38 degrees and at full load does not go over 62. Until now I'm extremely pleased with the unit.

OK. I've read the cooler can be loud, that was probably the performance mode which is not needed in this instance. A 4.3GHz OC is not huge. In performance mode the cooler would probably handle near 5Ghz on a 4c/8t i7, too bad the 3820 doesn't OC that far :<

Honestly I don't know, I just know the 3820 has a semi-locked multiplier, it can't touch an i7-2600K. They probably have a threads about this at OCN, google thinks so too. If there's room for increasing the clock your H100 can take it. How did you stress test to achieve the full load temps at your current OC?

Very aware of Google, just trying to make some pleasant conversation and maybe spark an interesting discussion.

:\

Thought it might have been interesting to see what the 3820 can do. I'm waiting on a 3960x to be delivered from Newegg. I'll post back with results when It's installed.
