i'm not in america so i buy locally here in the philippines. it sucks down here because i can't find decent parts for a nice price. everything that has a good name or reputation is priced somewhat higher. anyway, do you have any other suggestions for the mobo? is it decent enough already?

the normal audigy. i'm not yet sure about the raid...do u have any other suggestions on the mobo? i'm new with athlon and need opinions about the chipsets and manufacturers. please help.

i'd take the memory but does anandtech ship internationally?

i don't know why seagate but i chose it because i've had bad experiences with maxtor and don't know any other good brand of hds. well...i'm not so sure with everything but i really need help on picking the parts.

actually its about $800-900.

for you, i say skip on the raid, your probably not going to use it and you will save a bit .. ya and purchase the mem from crucial with the discount .. originally it didnt work, but it works now=) good luck and enjoy your new system ..

I say go with the ECS K7S5A motherboard instead of the Abit. It's probably 1/3 the cost of the RAID board and uses a solid SiS chipset which is not too far behind the KT266a in terms of performance. The built-in audio is no Audigy but at least you could use the $aving$ towards a Geforce3 Ti200 which would be an excellent match for an Athlon XP 1800+.

I'd ditch the GF2 for a GF3 Ti200... other than that, that's a great looking setup.

Instead of buying parts locally, why not buy everything online and save tons?
It is at least worth checking whether the shipping costs will be more than the savings or not...if not, newegg will treat you right.

I'd change motherboard, soundcard and graphics card. No Abit or Creative for me any more.
