Thermalright XP-90 or Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro at svc.com.

Edit: BTW, there's a handy hs/f thread stickied in the Cases & Cooling section you may want to check out.

Thermalright SI-120 plus the 120mm fan of your choice. I like this sink because it is large enough that it also cools the area around the CPU, which may include the PWM and RAM slots depending on how your board is layed out. You need to remove the board to install the backplate that comes with it, but after that, it can be installed without removing anything from the case, at least that's how it is with the two boards I've used it with.

You can get those for $40? Screw what I said, always for a hs with a 120mm fan if your budget (and mobo) allow for it.

I've read that the stock HSF that comes with the other AMD dual cores is a decent performer and can be found for a good price on eBay. Around $15 in most cases. Here is a good review http://www.madshrimps.be/?action=getarticle&articID=399 .

Personally, I ended up going with the Zalman 9500 cooler for my X2 3800. I had it overclocked to 2.5ghz with the stock HSF and my temps were peaking at 52C CPU, 54C PWM IC, and 47C chipset.

Once I installed the new Zalman HSF my temps dropped to 38C CPU, 44C PWM IC, and 40C chipset under full load.

The stock hs you are talking about (the 4 pipe one) doesn't come with the X2 3800+
