Buying new ram, which is best?

So I decided to go for 8gb of ram with all the deals going on as part of a gaming rig update.
Right now I have an Opty 165 on a ASUS A8R32-MVP Deluxe mobo and am looking at:

XMS2 4GB PC-6400 DDR2

I don't really overclock (but am not opposed to it) and am hoping this upgrade won't turn into a new build! Any suggestions on which ram would work better would be most appreciated!

8GB is useless for gaming. Useless.

Edit: That said, either of those should be fine. I'd go for whichever's cheaper.

In looking at the other hardware posted up - you are intending on upgrading the Motherboard, CPU, and RAM at the least correct?

I mean depending on what you're running now in terms of memory and graphics - If you have 2 gigs on that current 939 setup more than likely you have a bottleneck at you graphics card

I'm all for doing a full upgrade but you stated you were trying to avoid a new build - and IMO new mobo, cpu, & ram pretty much warrants being called a new build. Unless you are running a 8800 or 38xx of some kind I would look at updating the graphics first as a viable rig "refresh"

other than that - go for which is cheaper

I bought the A-DATA. No rebate to deal with, so for 10$ no hassles.

Look at it this way, 4GB for 140$ today vs. 4MB on my 486-33 CPU for 160$ in 1996. You get 4MB on the CPU as cache TODAY!!! Go with the 8GB. Think of thye price difference and the $ inflation in the last 12 years. 160$ was a lot of clams for a computer in 1996, essentially before the .com era. GO FOR THE MOST RAM. GO PATS!!! Oh, Never Mind.

Thanks for the input guys! It's looking more and more like a full rebuild. I was planning on seeing which graphics card (the new nvidia one coming out or the ATI one already out) wins takes the cake and getting that with my tax refund. I'll probably post a new rig question in the next two months.

As for the 8 gb, yup, totally useless for gaming but I use ps quite a bit and seeing how 8 gigs now costs less than the 2 gigs I have, why not?
