Buying the right cable for 1440P

Sup everyone,
So I'm thinking about buying a Acer-XF270HU to use with my Radeon 280x which has a mini displayport. The problem is, my monitor would be about 15FT from my PC. I found a displayport to mini displayport (cable matters) that will work at 2560x1440. I wanted to make sure it could also handle the 144Hz refresh rate so I emailed cable matters. They said they do not have a cable that can support that bandwidth at 15FT. I then decided to contact monoprice, they also told me no dvi, hdmi, or displayport to mini displayport they sell will handle 2560x1440p, 144Hz at 15FT. So I found one of their newer high end cables that is displayport to displayport(Which I can't use unless I get an adapter or switch video cards), I talked to someone else at monoprice if that one would work at 2560x1440p, 144Hz at 15FT, they told me the refresh rate doesn't even matter when it comes to cables.

So I'm confused here because I'm getting conflicting answers. I just need a displayport to mini displayport that will work at 15FT 2560x1440p, 144Hz. I don't even know if that's possible from the answers I'm getting. I would greatly appreciate any help.

It's not to mini-displayport though, might need a mini adapter?

More cable info, might help finding something, or getting a list of other manufacturers who might know for sure if their 5m cables support that refresh rate.

I found a thread over at arstechnica about the same problem. I just don't think it's going to be possible unless I spend $100 or more on a displayport cable and even then I would need a displayport to mini displayport. Looks like the cable needs to be high bandwidth, low gauge for them to work that far and there's hardly any out there.

This Heavy-duty 24AWG, 21.6 Gpbs,4096x2160 / 60p would probably work but it's $110. I would need an adaptor though and who knows if it would work with an adaptor or not. Looks like I'm SoL trying to run that monitor 15FT from my PC.

Monoprice use to be my goto place for anything cables but looks like that's changed. They just don't seem to care for making high quality, low gauge displayport cables.
