Buying Video card

Hey guys...I have $450 to burn and I need to get rid of it tonight. What is the best card I can get of new egg for that?
BTW, I have similar post in video, but I just need response now and know that some of you don't go to both categories. Thank you!

i would recomend 6600GT AGP or PCI-E there are aroung $210-230. You will be good for another 2 years at least and save 50%.

For $450 exactly, X800XT.

For $380, 6800GT.

X800XT will run all shader intensive games faster than 6800 series cards (ie. HL2, Perimeter, Far Cry etc.). Unless you play Doom 3 and a lot of older OpenGL games, I'd get x800xt since it provides better gaming experience. Also X800xt has HDTV capability if that is of importance to you.

But bang-for-the-buck, 6800GT it is.

What extra pipelines?

The 6800 Vanilla has the pipelines and vertex pipe that MIGHT be able to be unlocked.

6800GT... you will barely, if at all, notice a difference betweent that and the X800XT. Thats what happens when you cruise around at like 200FPS

GT will save you money, then you have more money for something else

Sorry about cross posting. I've adminned BBs before, so I know that it's not right. Anyway I was under some stress to reach a decision. I trust the posters on here, so I tried to get as many opinions as possible. I ended up with BFG 6800GT OC. I am about to receive it later today. Thank you for those that helped. Sorry to those who can't bend a little.
BTW-the card purchased is OCed..hence this is in correct category!
