Buzzing noise from X800 XL

I have strange noises coming from my X800 XL card (not the fan, since I put my finger on it to stop it for a sec and the noise was still there). This noise is a loud buzzing sound, and only appear in certain situations, and vary in intensity.

The loudest so far is when I load a map in Neverwinter Nights' Toolset. As I zoom out, the noise decreases (and increases as I zoom in). If i click outside the window for a sec, the noise disappears.

I'm guessing the circuitry must be responsible for this noise somehow, but I can't imagine what part of it is doing it. Have anyone else had similar experiences?

I think so... When I run the overclocking detection stress test built into ATI Tool i heard buzzing as well. It was suprisingly loud. It definitely makes me a little nervous about the quality control on these cards. Anyone else have any input??

Yeah I get buzzing doing stress tests with ATiTool too, its not *that* loud though and just seemed normal to me. It's not?

You are right, but its a bit noisy. Its louder than my HD, which is probably the loudest part of my otherwise quiet HTPC.

my leadtek 6800gt, makes little squeaking noises when i play splintercell PT, when i go to night vision it goes, when i go back to normal colour view, i get the squeaky noise, its strange

I've had this problem for a while now, and it's rather annoying. The buzzing sound is not from the fan...I bought an Arctic Cooler 5.2 and the buzzing noise is still there.

The buzzing varies depending on the program too. It's really bad with ATI Tool's 3d View. It' even worse when I play older games like Diablo II. However, on CS: Source and HL2, the noise is at it's loudest during the main menu, but tones down during gameplay. The noise also shows up when I scroll up and down reading PDFs!!

No clue what it is...could it be a manufacturing error?

hmm...thats odd, i used to also have it on my X850XT-PE a while ago especially while running the HL stress test but the noise has stopped recently...im still puzzled

if is made by 10 year old asians and its made of plastic and metal, its not going ot work right all the time. my old 6800nu had a broken wire connecting to the fan and it never spun! it got too hot and performance went wa y down so i exchanged it. but thats weird. and by the way the fan on my bfg 6800 gt is so f***ing loud!

Sounds like they are using some cheap arse Capacitors. Just a guess. Expect them to not last too long if they actually make noise. I can't think of anything else that would make noise besides there actaully being a speaker on the cards themselves. ?????

LOL, this reminds me of a thread in the CPU forum where a dude's cpu was making a whiny noise (and no, it wasn't the fan). That's some weird sh!t, I didn't think it was even possible.
