buzzing noise when watching tv

Hi all. I recently got cable tv and I'm starting to use the tv/radio card that I bought a while ago. It's called the Viedeoemail Xtreme, and it uses the Conexant 878 chip. The picture comes in fine but there's a low buzzing sound when watching tv. The audio is perfectly clear when listening to the radio. I've tried directly plugging my speakers into the tv card and I've also tried different speakers. I tried using a sb live 5.1 instead of the onboard sound, but nothing helps. Has anyone ever experienced this and knows of a solution? I'm running windows 2000. Thanks in advance.

check to see if you have any feedback, try messing with any line in vs volume numbers
try a more shielded cable tv cable
is it all channels both vhf and uhf?
try with a vcr serving up the signal to isolate it as not the cable tv

I tried to hook up an old rabbit ear antenna to the card and the buzzing sound was still there and it seems to affect all channels. The buzz is really noticeable when i turn up the bass on my speakers, but I think it's only amplifying the existing buzzing noise. It's tolerable when I turn my bass down but I can still notice it. Thanks for the help eeadams. Are there any common computer components that cause buzzing on video cards? I find it weird that it only affects tv audio and not radio audio.

Well I've tried putting the card in different pci slots, taking out all other cards that aren't necessary for watching tv and problem still persists. I'll have to try the card on a different computer tomorrow...

I have this problem when I capture from my ATi AIW R9700 Pro. I found it to be a problem in my cable line...as in a poor connection that comes to my room. If I bring my PC to another spot in the house and hook it up, it's just fine.

Also, when I capture from Satellite, I received the same issue. Replacing my coax cabling that comes to my room fixed it up.

However, I in the time being, I had used the Photosoap feature with my ATi and it did an *excellent* job of removing the hissing sound.

I just noticed something weird. When I minimize DScaler, the buzzing noise goes away and the audio is fine. When I maximize it again, the buzzing noise comes back. Could this be a software/driver problem?

I also have a buzzing noise, but it is a bit different. It happens for me when I play 3d apps on my nvidia gf4. When I minimize the game, noise goes away also. It noticed it recently and tried to get rid of it, thought it could be hair or lint or dust thats bothering the card. Alchohol baths and others didn't help. I've tried alot and the noise won't go away, so it could be an internal problem.
