Buzzing Sound of Spakers When Volume is High

Hey Everyone,
How's it going? I was wondering if computer speakers (I have the Logitech Z-2200 2.1 speaker system) are supposed to make this "buzzing" sound when the volume is turned on really high. When I am watching movies and such on my computer, I can hear this slight buzzing sound, and although it isn't very loud, it is quite annoying until my mind can push it into the back of my head and think that it's just regular background noise. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Umm turning up the wave volume does seem to help a bit, thanks! Here's more info for anyone who wants to help me more:

I only get distortions when playing certain things, although it's usually things that have a soft volume and I have to turn it up (if I'm playing Winamp and the song I am playing isn't soft, then I don't get any distortions even if I turn it up). Is there a reason for this? I'm currently using Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound card and have been using that card for about two years now. Last month, I upgraded my speaker system from the Logitech Z-540 speakers to the Logitech Z-2200 speakers, which should be a lot better, but now I am getting distortions on the Z-2200 at about the same volume level as I used to play the same things on the Z-540. Is there a reason why? Thanks.

Well I'm not sure why the new ones would make more noise assuming they are not defective, try hooking them up to a known clean source like a portable CD or MP3 player. Also turn the Master and Wave gains up as high as possible, stop when you start to hear distortion at volume peaks, this will give you the best signal to noise ratio and sound quality, for reference my master is at 100% and my other sources are at about 45%. Use a simple track something acoustic with some energy would be good listen to the loudest note for distortion then dial it back a bit.

It should be a quality problem, need to be fixed by Logitech technician.
Are your speakers still in the warranty period?

I have the Creative Labs Inspire 6.1 6600 speakers and an Audigy 2. They always make a "hissing" noise when they are turned up loud, it's just noiseless-static. As long as something is playing, you won't notice. I'm not sure why, but every surround sound speaker system that I've seen for a computer does this. I don't think that there is anything wrong with your speakers.

Check out the Klipsch PM 5.1 or 5.1 Ultra's, complete silence even at full volume. With a signal, full volume has absolutely no audible distortion.
