BX6r2 + Slot 1 Coppermine. Who has one, and is overclocking.

Need to know if this combo works and what bios you are using.
I've got a customer, who has one of my cC0 700 slot 1, that I tested here at over 1GHz and he says he cant get it over 721. I've gone over all the obvious settings, but nothing seems to work.

This does not seem right to me.

I got one. I am currently running a PIII-750(BO) at 129fsb 968mhz with 384megs of cas2 pc133 micron ram. I can run it at 133fsb but counter strike does not like it. I have a Radeon 64vivo and a mx400 sound card. Bios is the one befor last. Not sure of the number I am at work but can look it up later on today for you.
Oh I had a geforce2 64meg before my radeon and it ran the same.

I have this MB. I think your problem is the ram. The board spec is for only PC100 or PC133. Swap the ram out and try it.

My "lowend" system is a PIII600e on a BX6r2 booting as a PIII800eb. The FSB of 133 is stressing the BX chip a little, but performance is great. Having PC150 ram might help in getting over a FSB of 138, which I could never do stable with my setup. Running the QR(?) bios, the one before last whatever it was. He should get 931(133x7) I would think unless he has some cards holding him back on the overclocked bus.

If it's the brother to the cC0 PIII 700 slot 1 that you sold to me, the problem must be his system. Now I'm actually running that chip at 150 FSB on P3B-F at 1.7V (default voltage). Was able to run 3DMark200 all night(about 6 hours). One heck of chip. Thanks again Steve!!

I'm the one with the chip... the ram is pc133 cl3 (or so they say) not pc150. I got a vxd error on one of the boots into windows so i think the ram is doing it. I'm in the process of getting new/better ram so we'll see.

edit: using softfsb can get up to 902mhz (129 bus) seems solid ran q3 a bit and played counter strike for about 15 min. But going up to 133 thing error out.

Things that might help -

If your RAM is questionable, set it to the safest 3,3,3 timing

Set the Core Voltage to 1.85V

Disable Precharge control for your memory (not Auto)

make sure your AGP speed is set to 2/3

make sure that your 133FSB setting selects the 133/4 timing or your PCI will be overclocked.

i thought the bx6r2 had problems above 133fsbs... maybe it's the ram.. I have a BX6R2 with a 850 CB0 and it went to 112FSB with no problem, also a 450 Katmai that did 133FSB @ 600Mhz with no problem.

I end up using a PCI voodoo3 because I didn't like to fry the agp card at 89+mhz...
