Stubbornness will not get you anywhere.

Opera is nice for features like trash can, BitTorrent handling, and a number of other things. Check out Rossman's link. I just don't feel like a transition since IE is fine.

2) Maybe your pc is unstable? Check the sticky in the cpu forum for stability testers. FWIW when I hit reply just now IE7 errored and closed, lol.
3) tools > internet options > security > internet zone > custom level > look under scripting at the bottom for "Allow website to prompt for info using scripted windows > enable > ok > apply

Next time tell them to call someone who knows a thing or two about computers.

How to Uninstall IE7:
1. Go to Control Panel
2. Click Add or Remove Programs
3. Click Show Updates checkbox
4. Click whatever version of IE7 you have. For example "Windows Internet Explorer 7"
5. Click the Change/Remove button

There are just a ton of features and options available in Opera right out of the box, no need to go and download extensions. However there are indeed other skins and cosmetic addons you can download to personalize it.

I also really like the built-in email client and how you can manage your bookmarks, contacts, and notes.

Every so often I'll hit a website that doesn't like Opera, but that is exceedingly rare.

I've used IE7 some, and it's ok. It has a weird feel to me, but this would be different for everyone. I don't have the various problems with FF that others post about, so I'm sticking with it.

lolmao....IE7, which i LIKE btw. is still SLOWER than FF, even simple things like scrolling on a page, FF defintly faster.

IE is slo slow that there is a "lag" when i use my mousewheel scrolling up/down.....not to mention various
improvements i get using FF2.0 using the fasterfox extension.

Opera's rendering sucks compared to FF and it doesn't always do Flash/Java perfectly but it is fast and stable.

I'm pretty sure the lag you are referring to is actually "smooth scrolling"

ok Opera definitely loads up the pages faster than ffx. Also with the same 4 tabs open on both, Opera is using 38228K, ffx is using 76220K. I think i might make Opera my default browser for now. Does Opera have an Adblock feature?

Opera has two problems.

1. Click back too many times and you get some stupid bitch that belongs in a Mac commercial on your screen.
2. There's no small back/forward arrow to skip multiple pages back/forward.

Until they fix those, FF FTW!

I like how firefox is so easy to use, with ctrl T is for tabs and ctrl J is downloads. The download box for firefox is one of a kind.
