Just ordered the C4 Mouse Mod Kit!

Just for info, I ordered two of the MICE ICE? (Baby!) Mousepad Slippery Glide Surface a while back and we have one stuck to a piece of glass with rounded edges and the other to a piece of neon plexi glass and both work fine. Sure beats the heck out of those more expensive mousepads.

Thanks, Pablo. We are selling the bejeebers out of the C4. I have followed up with Testers using the product for longest period of time and, I'm happy to say, C4 is still going strong. No wear; continues to perform as when originally shipped.

Now we're seeing orders from Canada, Peru, New Zealand and Brazil! Keep you posted here.

Just got mine. I thought it was clear, but copper color is cool too. I put it directly on my wood desk and it's working nicely. The backing is a little tricky to get off and trying not to crease the paper. Overall, two thumbs up.

My mouse tape arrived today, but is sitting in my apartment office all weekend, because my mail person is too lazy to ring the bell. They just leave a not without even checking to see if anyone is home. That is annoying but oh well.

I cant wait till monday to see how it works with mouse tape.

I really can't stand mousepads, they're annoying to me, could I just stick this to my desk? If I pull it off will it take off the finish of the desk?

EDIT: nevermind I thought this stuff was clear, its copper. I think I might get some of those mouse feet things though..

Yes, you can just stick it to your desk. However I have no idea how it would effect the particular finish of your desk, and I doubt anyone else does either. You could just stick it to a very thin piece of plexiglass

It sticks to a desktop very swell & even fits around the round desk edge. It does not add much thickness to desk surface at all. We have it on our desks but we have not yet tried removing it. The adhesive is a "clean release" type adhesive which should come off easily but I have no data for desktop removal. It also sticks to metal, particle board, paper. I suggest trying a small piece--see how well it comes off. PM me with your address and I'll mail you a 3" sample. Sher

I might be late to the party, but i just ordered.
i got a small and i'll be slapping it directly onto my desk.
i have a small gel pad that i might end up sticking on there as well if i decide that i miss it from my venerable belkin waverest

on second thought, perhaps i'll get a small bit of plexiglass, mount the c4 and the gel pad, and throw some rubber feet on it...yeah that's the ticket...and then i dont have to order again if i switch desks...

Other than the responses made in a prior e-mail, that?s about it. I really like the surface a lot. The bumpiness gives some touch feedback so that you know the mouse has moved, and helps keep the mouse from moving erroneously. The speed is very nice (but not as slick as my wooden desk, to be honest), as it adds more control and smoothness. I find that it is quite comfortable to use because your hand doesn?t stick to the surface. Overall, it?s absolutely wonderful

i guess i should post my resulting mousepad-guy

ok. here goes.

Here is the cutting board which i bought at walmart for $2

here i am, waiting paitiently for the c4 to arrive. cutting boards dont work very well for optical mice...
in the end i ditched that blue gel pad and chopped the black one off my belkin wave-rest. it's wider and i like it better.

C4 installed! i think the color contrast is not bad at all. not great...but not bad
here's a closeup look. oooooh shiney!
hmmm...looks like someone upgraded his mouse too
also looks like someone forgot to wipe the fingerprints off before the photo session

i dont have a totally finished pic yet with the black gel pad that nearly-completely spans it, nor do i have pics of the small rubber feet which i put on the bottom (and it doesnt move around at all now)

i put the teflon disks on my mouseman optical, and cannot feel much difference between it and the mx700 without the disks. but then again logitech has good pads...and these are new.

i guess that's all for now

I believe that the best colors would be basic black, something with a brushed aluminum finish look to it, or other basic colors...mostly deeper tones. i personally think the bronze/copper is unique and not alltogether unattractive...particularly if you got to the point where you could package it as a unit instead of just an add-on surface. if you were to find a good source of well-sized flat-black plastic that you could use for bases, and manufacture a finished product, you would probably have more demand than you would know what to do with.
at this point im glad i have my c4-cutting board

How well would C4 attach to the surface of a Ratzpad? The ratpadz surface is very similar to the clipboard that Bob's shows in his pics above.

I have mine attached to an everglide giganta, which is almost identical to a ratpadz. It works great.
