C4 is not my buisness if you track the first thread about c4 linked in the first post in this page you will notice I was a beta tester for the product. I was so impressed I offered to take it to PDXlan for sher since I was going anyways. Sher is awsome and we often pm back and forth but I do not nor Do I intend to work for cshyde. This can all be easily proven if you want to back track to the first post regarding c4.

The only money exchanged was 500 Free Samples sher gave to every attendee at the said lan......I was helping get a rather cool product out in the limelite not sell stuff for my own gain. Isnt that the reason why we post hot deals to help each other out? I was just doing my part to help a great company and a even greater lady prosper with a fantastic product.

My 2 cents

Don't forget to mention the fact that the wonderful C4 was introduced to the world BECAUSE of AT HD's(and a little bit of FW) threads about(and the corresponding business boom of) using teflon tape for mice feet...

Sher had no idea why all of a sudden people were ordering her SURPLUS teflon tape until she found out about AT's threads... she even created a screenname just to provide feedback for us!

This is definatly not a company promoted thread... and yes, keep this thread alive by happy and satisfied customers... and even unhappy ones, just so Sher can read and improve on anything!(i.e. color/name of C4/son of C4)

I'll bump this thread to the end of time. This is a great product, made by a company who has one great lady around to talk to us and respond to our input. That's a hot deal, period.

Beta Testers: "Son of C4" AKA "C4, Next Gen" is delayed. When it comes out, we will need about 20 Testers. Will be looking for competition gamers, Lan Party Organizers, Reviewers. Must also be very active in Anandtech, with at lease 500 posts and have gaming credentials (ie List og Games played, Lans attended, Review Sites etc) Must be wiling to follow through and give constructive feedback.

Don't get too excited though. We are trying to perfect one aspect of the new product so it may take us out to April

I don't have a lot of posts - or play alot of games...but I am a video editor, so a smooth mouse surface is HUGE for me. Hours on end of moving items across the screen, minisucle movements that need to be spot on accurate to get the proper frame, etc.

If possible...SIGN ME UP!

ok..............so what should I buy? My Duke Nukem 3D mousepad is crazy old, and I am going to get a new mouse {which I also need advice on, but that is another story}. I was going to get a RaPad, but I respect your opinions more than hearsay. I need to be able to move the pad since I take it home from the dorm. I suck ba||z at carpentry, but if I gotta, I gotta. I get the 16 x 16, some hard flat surface, etc. This stuff seems awesome, and I dont know why I waited so long to upgrade.

If I could get a sample or two, there is a new LAN center opening in my town in a few weeks (around mid-march). The new pad will get some good testing there.

hopefully a entire large mousepad will be made. Your site, Sherry, is crazy confusing. I think I know what item(s) I will order, but am waiting to see if the comments made by others could create new products I'd rather buy (mousepad). I know making my own doesnt demand alot of work, but a mouspad is the obvious next step and I'd like to see how that goes.

Does anyone already have wear on the c4 pad? Ive only used it about a week and the high traffic area I use is noticeably rouger than the edges.

Wasn't there a 20/20 thing that talked about teflon poisoning? They pretty much said to stay away from anything made from teflon, including cookware and stainfree/wrinklefree clothes? Wonder if this thing has the same affect?

Johnbear I noticed that you have used this product with your Boomslang 2100. I have a Boomslang 2000 and an Icemat. What were you using before and exactly how happy are you with it?

I am considering trying of this out but still a bit leary, but not as leary as I was before I read the previous 4 pages of info.

Another question I have is does it leave a sticky residue once you peel it off? I can either stick this to my desk or my Icemat and would rather keep my icemat in good shape.

Thanks for any help.

So noones pad has worn down?

RiceARoni- If you are looking for ultimate slickness get a fUnc1030. I've had one for about year and its slick as hell with the c4 mouse feet. It hasnt worn down a bit; the only problem is its small.

I remember the original thread on the teflon tape deals. Wow! How this has exploded.

My question is, what if you used excess c4 mat as you would teflon feet?
Would this make it too slippery?
Are there groves in the surface that would catch?
Is the adhesive strong enough to hold the skates on to the bottom of the mouse?

so what do you guys stick your C4 to? I wanted a son-of-C4 but it lloks it still a way out.
How does the C4 compare to the original MouseIce? I bought 2 MouseIce when the original thread started, one of them was damaged in shipping and the other one starting to peel off the mousepad I stuck it on. While the MouseIce was an improvement over just the mousepad I was not overly impressed. Also the MouseIce is just too small. I play a lot of Unreal Tournament 2003/4 and I set my mouse sensitivity fairly low and I play at 1600x1200 so I require a rather larger mousepad. 16x16 for C4 sounds good, but I don't know what to stick it on that won't skid all over my desk,

I have the original C4 pad that predates the Anandtech beta test. I guess you could call mine the alpha product. It was among a stack of 4 or 5 products that C.S. Hyde sent me to test.

Anyway, mine is holding up great. I can't see any wear at all on mine. I just took an ultra close-up photo of mine today and posted it on my website here:

Hi. Yes, my website is not the greatest, esp if you enter through the homepage instead of direct to the MouseGear page. I'll plead the Fifth here because I wrote it myself and I am by no means a genius at website design. My focus has been on getting new products out to you folks and trying to keep up with this market.

Here's where we stand we the feedback received here: We now have C4 Mounted-on-Mousepad. It's not on the site yet but it will be soon. It's C4 mousing surface mounted on a rubber 1/16" r mousepad. We're doing about a 100 of those to see how they do. C4 M-o-M is 8.5" x 7".

"Son of C4, Nex Gen" (don't worry, we'll rename this, hopefully with all of your help) is scheduled into production. This we'll want to Beta Test. It's a one-piece pad with C4 mousing surface and Black Rubber Grip backing. It's about .009" thick total. It's thin and very portable. This will be small to extra large. Please don't offer to Beta Test just yet. Don't want to do that until it's in our hands.

Thanks for all the buzz and for the very helpful feedback.

If I buy a medium or large piece of C4 and apply it to my desk, will it come off at the edges within a few week? will it be bonded there so permanently that I'll never ever get it off? or somewhere in between?
