I recently came across a Dell C600 Latitude.
I wanted to install linux on it and run it as a basic internet machine. I noticed in HD tune the harddrive was maxing around 16MB/s (Im assuming because its old IDE?)
Im wondering if that is due to the old hard drive or would the internal cables/components be restricting my transfer rates.
I want to buy a new hard drive for it, however i dont see much point if i cant operate faster than 16MB/s?
Would buying a new modern hard drive allow me closer to 100MB/s?
