SUOrangeman, I typed in one program. I forget what it was called or what mag it was from, but it was a Galaga type game. It took forever, and it didn't work. I must have made a typo somewhere.

I spent way to much time playing Apache Gunship, but I had 900+ C64 games. yes that's 900.

For some reason, Crossroads sounds familiar. I don't know why.

regarding having to type in programs, Compute! had a checksum program that help you find typos along the way.

We were hardcore back in the day!

OMG you guys are bringing back so many awesom flashbacks, all those games mentioned rocked!

but no one mentioned Druid II or Necromancer, those were two of the real good ones.

Omega race was more addicting than crack, me and my brothers had astronomical high scores in that game.

My favorite was of course, SPYHUNTER! That game ruled...but it was pretty difficult. For someone who is pretty good at Quake III now I could then never get past the "Icy Roads Ahead" level. Damn missile firing helicopter! What fun that was!

A couple, no idea what the name of them were though. I recall one said something like "destroy them, my robots". I wasn't much for the games though, I mostly had a terminal program loaded & running

Yo Yo,

That was "Impossible Mission", and I loved that game.. Finished too many times. Great little puzzles in it.

HAHAHAHAHA I loved the sound that the guy would make when you fall down one of those holes. "Auuuggggggghhhhhhhhh" I would sometimes do it on purpose, just to hear the yell.

I loved one of the old C64 games in particular. I can't remember the name exactly (something like Medival Games), but you could do 1 vs 1 combat (early Street Fighter type game) and also play around with an archery game it had. Them were the days . . . . .

I loved 4th and inches, I hooked it up to the TV and it was pretty awesome! Zaxxon was pretty fun as well.

MGMorden, that is Knight Games to which you are referring. Fun game.

But I'm highly disappointed that no one has mentioned Paradroid. THAT is what a computer game should be. It is the yardstick by which I measure all other games. I still load up an emulator to play it on a frequent basis.

If commodore had survived, I wonder where they would be today? Their amiga's were light years ahead of apple and ibm machines.

From what I understand, they didn't market themselves well, and paid for it.
