C7 Stingray test drive

It's FIVE hours long! So I have to be there at 7:30 in the morning. Should be fun though.

Anything I should be on the lookout for?

You have a GTR, why do you care about a stock C7? If I were in your shoes, I'd be taking a tour of the AMS shop to see about getting some upgrades for the GTR.

3. Amazing if true, but I highly doubt anybody gets that many miles of track hoonage from those rotors.

Having driven the Stingray on the racetrack, it is more car than I'll ever use. Little to no body roll. The electronics on it make the GTR look old school. Ferocious sounding exhaust. Once prices come off retail in a couple of years, then it will be an amazing bargain. The Z06 is going to be a beast.

So do you prefer the flappy paddles in the GTR or the manual in the C7?

I don't get to track mine until April. Did you get to try PTM? I'm still trying to figure out how I am going to train myself to put the pedal to the floor exiting turns after learning to be overly ginger with it on my last car which was a torque monster.

Did you get to try PTM?

There were three modules in the schedule. One of the modules was designed strictly to show us the differences in four of the five modes (we didn't use weather). I didn't notice much difference between ECO and Touring. The Sport had a much nicer exhaust sound and the Track changed the heads up display. IMHO, I don't think we were going fast enough to really tell too much difference in the handling modes. We were around 25-35 MPH in that module. I'd say that the Vette handled about as well as my Cayman S, which is high praise.

Thanks. They kept you out of the active handling modes then. To get to those you hit the tc button twice while in track and it brings up a new menu or wet, dry, sport 1, sport 2 and race like the zr-1 has. Those are the ptm modes I meant.
