Like an inline digital cable amplifier. Say one that comcast will install for about 20 dollars

Best would be blonder tongue.
But their stuff is usually priced at a premium.

Its really best to get the cable company to turn up the signal at the headend than it is to try to amp an already degraded signal at the house.

edit:
Electroline makes some amps that will work with cable modems, if thats a concern.

yep.
The cable companies boxes where your cable comes off has power adjustments.
There is a limit to how much they can amp it but I would contact them before I spent money on an amp to see if they can increase the signal . And the amplifier they use is going to be of a much higher quality than the one your likely to find for 20.00 or so.

If your doing it as a business, thats the kind of money thats in those pedastals you see the cable company using.

Those amps are designed to be powered off the cable line.
On most systems, they run 60-90vac over the cable itself to power each pedastal then the amps filter it out. But it also has to take the heat and the cold and remain stable.
Thats why the high cost.

are you experiencing a problem? are you adding cable outlets?

the d/s snr is excellent, the tx is on the high side, but within spec. the rx (power level) is actually 1 dbmv too high. an amp would almost certainly knock you off line.

is your pc connected directly to the modem, or is there other stuff (router, wireless) involved?

if it's comp -> modem, i'll guess you have u/s packet loss. your modem doesn't provide that info (to you )
1. pull the power from the modem for a minute. sometimes, that's all it takes. seriously. any loose connectors in a tangle of wires behind your stuff?
2.call the cable company and have the tech support check the health of the modem.

Signal levels are not going to have any effect on latency. In your case, it is probably something within the "cloud" that is congested which is where your latency is coming into effect.
