sorry editted to add pic - not used to this forum yet - havent posted much here recently

interior

Specs?

Hi thats got a 3500+ with an msi neo4 platinum with 2 gigs of ram and all of that with a ati x300se (all of those parts are my spare rig

im probably going to remove and transplant my main rig stuff back in there - thats a more respectable setup

ie 4800+ cpu and asus a8n 32 sli deluxe with 7800gtx as well as 2 gigs of team xtreem ddr500 (going to replace the 7800gtx with a dx10 card when vista arrives - had a pair of the 7800gtx's in sli before but sold one to raise cashfor the DX10 upgrade - it wont be worth much later - so while i could get some value for it i let it go)

i still expect the interior to look pretty much the same - you wont see much wiring - and the main atx wiring will be covered with a plastic version of shower hose - plus any wiring you see now will be sleeved when im doing the system transplant

also at the moment im using an ide hard drrive - im also going to put in my raptor x in there somewhere - thats going to go on the top but i have to cut a hole on the top panel to make a window so its visible

heres a pic of what the raptor looks like when its installed in the case

raptor

and heres what the interior looked like with the other stuff in it - im still experimenting and im drilling holes behind the mobo to acommodate where im going to route the cabling through - so its all playing around at the moment until i get it perfect - aim is to not recognise one bit of wiring as wiring when im completed

interior with better parts in there - but not as neat

i will start a project thread when i complete the both pc's - one may be watercooled when im finished

also i apologise for blurry phonecam pics - will borrow a proper camera when the projects are completed

Coolermaster mystique case i changing this as in my opinion it was poor airflow i have a cheaper case laying around im going to switch it over to this http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/...in_page=product_info&products_id=20521

this is whats in there asus p5wdh motherboard,3 raptorx 150 gig hard drives,ati tv wonder elite tuner card,5 port usb card,creative audigy ,sound blaster x-fi Fatal1ty sound card,evga 8800gts video card,areca 1210 raid card,vantec 600watt power supply,e6600 with a cnps 9500,and 2 sticks of ocz ddr2 800
The cooler master case is nice but the way the drives are it completly blocks the front fan and there is no air flow

I've recently upgraded my motherboard and tried very hard to clean up my wiring but I have too many drives and too many fans to make it all "clean looking". I desperately need a modular drive or the desire to care, lol. I have rounded cables so the air still moves properly and my system runs good... it's just still not anything to brag about in the cable management department, lol.

Indyboy2,
I'm using the mystique as well, i've stuck another 12cm fan on the left side of the hd cage blowing air towards the graphics cards an providing air flow across the southbridge. This will bring the case temperature down dramatically.

check on the bottom right hand side - the power and led cables are all sleeved in black - when you look carefully - they are all there

By the IDE/PATA connector? See this picture

Now that's a MOBO made for clean cable installations.

By way of comparison, look at my MOBO. See how all the headers and connectors are laid out in a line on the bottom of the board (left hand side of picture)? There's no way to connect up all those cables and also make it look nice.

dude - you can drill some holes in the back of your case - and run those down under the mobo and then just route those behind the mobo tray - but if you do drill then remember to spray some tectyl to the drilled surfaces to prevent rust - that would depend on where you live ie coastal regions and also whether you have a steel or aluminium case

im going to repeat my pic here - sorry its a phonecam pic - but check the right lower corner how all the hdd and led and computer turn on switch wires are all going down and under the mobo - you can do the same with all the usb and firewire cabling - i have three holes cut in the mobo tray

What kind of tool do you use to cut holes in the MOBO tray? Do you use a dremel or a hole saw?

Is there anything ready-made to put around the interior of the (square) holes you dremel out? I suppose you could just put electrical tape around the edges, but I'm concerned about making sure you fully cover the sharp edges near cables and wires.

well where i live i can get rubber strips that fit over the edges - these are the type of things that old school modders used to use for casewindows - and these can form grommets - plus when i complete my mod all my cabling will be sleeved - so it minimises the risk of any cable getting pierced and shorting out

that u-channel stuff linked above seems perfect - wish i could get that exact product where i live - also im going to use the vantec sleeving kit if you are going to look for something along those lines

problem is that i live in South Africa - and we dont get everything here - though the alternative that i can find here is just a little more rounded than that one is - and should also work just as well though so it isnt a huge train smash

I have a total of 8 fans in this sucker! It's loud, but not terribly so.... My idle temperature in the case is around 29C...while my P4 3.0GHz idles at around 33C. During load, the case temp goes up to around 31C, while the CPU stay stable at 41C.... Are these temperatures normal? Or should they be better??

Thanks...

Hi mate, great work on the cables...The inside looks sweet. Is that a black case on the outside, mine is too, so I sprayed the inside black, looks better than the tired primer grey they come with, check it out The cables disappear into the black.....

Here's my new rig, just finished the setup and got it Orthos stable at 3.2Ghz for 12 hours. Finished the wiring a few minutes ago. I need to get some tubing to finish it up completely:
