Ok, I was looking at this

http://www.xoxide.com/sleeving...t%20(UV%20Blue)^1^6.99

and it seems like a decent kit for cable management. It would cost me $9.50 shipped. I was wondering if I could get more for less with my money?

I like the colored sleeving they have. Heatshrink I can easily get from work if I needed to. Are there any better kits than this for under $10?

that kit is not bad, but comes with lots of fat sleeving and heatshrink that i never used. If you need to sleeve a PSU, you'll need about 2 of those kits. (i bought one)

i used the kit mainly to sleeve fans and small cables so i ran out of the smallest sleeving and heatshrink. i got more of the size i needed from jab-tech. the fat sleeving is just sitting around.

are you only sleeving fans? an entire psu?

generally if the kit fits the needs of the project, it's your best bet to just get the kit. if, for instance, you are doing a complete rewiring + case modding for managment + adding new fans and UV lights ect ect you are probably going to be doing it again at some point, so spending extra on supplies now will mean having them later when you want them again. last time i lapped a cooler i ended up spending $25 on sand paper, when the amount i needed was only worth about $8. i ended up using the rest of it to sand off the paint on my armor full tower's back panel for a complete repainting, and using some of the rough grit i still had for sanding off the edges of holes i cut with dremels and drills for other case modding projects. i still have about half the paper i bought left, including a whole tone of 1500 grit which is great for touching up the base of your cooler if you remount it and it gets a bit knicked in the process.

ed: this goes for other things like case fans and what not as well. always buy one extra than what you expect to use since you will always find a use for them later, or in case one of the fans goes bad sooner than the others do. i learned this one the hard way, when my a64's stock cooler died, and the cooler could have come with a spare fan for a buck extra. they didnt make them anymore and i ended up going and getting a Vendetta2 and lapping it instead. now im hooked on comp modding as a hobby and i'm putting out money i dont absolutely need to to make my comp glow in the dark!

I have two of those kits and just used a few feet

It doesnt glow very well..
The shrink tubing is not what I would call the correct sizes...
Its a lot of work and 1/2 the time the shrink or sleeving melts before your have the look you want...

Use a Lighter for best resluts as a heat gun is way to hot and hard to heat a small area..

I would pass this deal if I where you..

I think best way to use this stuff is to cut wires, solder back together a custom per case fitted loom, cover solder with back heat shrink and cover that with Blue Glow Sleeving...

My experience is very similar to the other posters. I used maybe half of that kit and ran out of the loom and heatshrink that I use most often.

The bulk loom you get from performance-pcs or even fry's is so much better - easier to work with and doesn't fray quite as much. You can find heatshrink at Radio Shack in a pinch, never checked for loom (other than the thermaltake kits).

Hmm, this is starting to make me thing of asking for the scraps at work. we have a couple thousand feet of the heatshrink and a lot of texflex, but they are not in the pretty colors.
