Sure, but you'd need to do that EVERYTIME you rebooted your cable modem. Kinda a pain. Thats why I prefer to short the speed sensing circuit to ground (as posted above). Of course, you violate your warranty to do it, but you don't have to remember to do this if you power cycle the box....
