Cable Modem Upload Speed

I dont know if this is cool to ask or not. But what the heck. Is there anyway I can get a faster upload speed then 16K? This really sucks. I'm just goofing off with a FTP server but I think its capped to only 16K which kinda sucks.

My cable is capped at 128kb (16KB) and it sucks. I guess I don't mind so much because I don't upload stuff alot, and the crazy download speeds make up for it.

I've seen sites showing you how to uncap your modem, but I never tried it. I don't they work with too many companies.

I've heard that uncappers don't work, but for some reason I see more and more people asking me for them. I don't know if its true or not, but www.speedguide.net says they don't work and they seem reliable to me.

Buckmaster, download some of the tweaks from speedguide. I doubt they will help a lot, but they might help.

Don't know what to do. My cable is capped at around 36KB/s for uploads, but 1.5mbps for downloads, instead of 2 or eve 3mpbs other people get. I guess it's kind of a trade-off.

Cable companies limit upstream at the CMTS. There is NOTHING the user (YOU) can do to increase this.

It's to a., discourage server usage on the residential connections, and b., make the T1s and business class SDSL lines look more attractive

The simple answer is, no, there is absolutely no way you will be able to "up" your cap without perhaps paying your ISP more.

I get 500/250 on my cable. $40 a month. Did support two simultaneous connections of 22kB and 24kB, so sometimes greater than 250kb.

My upload is capped at 384kb which is 48KB. My download is 3mbps-4mbps.

NetTurbo is not a sham, if you don't beleive me try it it's free to try.
The program is only 9.95 if yoou own Memturbo otherwise 19.95
This program was made by the person who made memturbo, which alot of people here on these forms own.

Billyjak, I would consult the folks at the DSLReports.com Tweaks forum before spending money on any supposed "internet connection boost" type program. About the best you can do for a broadband connection is find out the MaxMTU to prevent fragmentation of packets, and sizing the RWIN.
