Pathetic and inexcusable. The WW1 shrines and monuments in France really drive home the horrific conditions of trench warfare, the least Trump could do was pay respect.

Trump supporters ate it up like candy when Trump shit on living soldiers and their families, so this means nothing to them. Most likely, they're upset Donald didn't go and piss on the graves.

Yeah, the memorials they've built in Europe really drive home the scale of the war in a way we cannot fathom here. We only had 3 days in Bruges when my wife and I visited France and Benelux, but we made a point of seeing Flanders and attending the Last Post at Ypres, especially since it was the centennial year. Every hill and field is still marked from the war, and graves are everywhere. Even small "unofficial" reminders of how much blood was shed in those fields. And Last Post still happens at 8pm at Menin Gate every day.

Marines died in WWI in France. The Orange Puke couldn't even go to visit their cemetery because of rain... cuz cars are not an option...

What else did you expect?

He's a coward, not fit to be in the company of good Marines.

I get together with 4 Marines 2 sailors, and a airman every Vet day for breakfast at Denny's (It's free for us..) and last year all anyone did was tell Trump jokes. Not a single one of us would follow an order given by him, because we had a real Commander In Chief.

His name was Ronald Wilson Reagan.

Lucky you. I had Johnson, Nixon and Ford to idolize while trying to survive the "Vietnam Conflict" and then Georgie Bush while participating in Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Those fvckers sure knew how to piss me off.

I forget which battlefield because its been a while, but I got to tour some of the fortifications. It was depressing standing in an open field facing an entire line of bunkers, thinking about all the pour souls that charged futile wave after futile wave against them and got mowed down by machine gun fire.

One of the monuments has a crypt beneath it that you could look into, filled with the skulls of unknown soldiers. You could see holes in some of them where bullets or shrapnel made impact.

My great-grandad was killed at Ypres, in the lull before Passchendaele. He's buried in one of those cemeteries. Killed by shell fire in the midst of a furious artillery barrage, apparently. There had been a snowstorm just before and the ground was covered in thick snow and the mud was frozen solid, apparently. Wasn't raining though, just the artillery fire.

Anyway, Trump is a selfish wimp, but I have to be honest that the truly horrible thought is, in terms of being overly-pampered I'm personally probably closer to Trump than I am to my own great-grandad.

There seems to be a suspicious absence of a certain group of posters from this thread. I wonder why.

Contrast President Reagan to Cadet Bone Spurs.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronald_Reagan#Military_service

After completing 14 home-study Army Extension Courses, Reagan enlisted in the Army Enlisted Reserve and was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Officers' Reserve Corps of the Cavalry on May 25, 1937.[33]

On April 18, 1942, Reagan was ordered to active duty for the first time. Due to his poor eyesight, he was classified for limited service only, which excluded him from serving overseas.[34] His first assignment was at the San Francisco Port of Embarkation at Fort Mason, California, as a liaison officer of the Port and Transportation Office.[35] Upon the approval of the Army Air Forces (AAF), he applied for a transfer from the cavalry to the AAF on May 15, 1942, and was assigned to AAF Public Relations and subsequently to the First Motion Picture Unit (officially, the "18th Army Air Force Base Unit") in Culver City, California.[35] On January 14, 1943, he was promoted to first lieutenant and was sent to the Provisional Task Force Show Unit of This Is the Army at Burbank, California.[35] He returned to the First Motion Picture Unit after completing this duty and was promoted to captain on July 22, 1943.[36]

In January 1944, Reagan was ordered to temporary duty in New York City to participate in the opening of the Sixth War Loan Drive, which campaigned for the purchase of war bonds. He was reassigned to the First Motion Picture Unit on November 14, 1944, where he remained until the end of World War II.[36] He was recommended for promotion to major on February 2, 1945, but this recommendation was disapproved on July 17 of that year.[37] While with the First Motion Picture Unit in 1945, he was indirectly involved in discovering actress Marilyn Monroe.[38] He returned to Fort MacArthur, California, where he was separated from active duty on December 9, 1945.[37] By the end of the war, his units had produced some 400 training films for the AAF.[36]

Determined to do his part regardless of physical ailment(s).

D Trump: "I can't go, my feet hurt.."

A disgusting piece of human filth.

Video proof that having a dick, and enough money to buy a wife doesn't necessarily make you a man.

Trump isn't fit to lick the mud off Obama's shoes.

Bracketing out actual politics and policies (in respect of which Obama is not beyond criticism), future historians are going to have fun comparing and contrasting the two of them in terms of personal character. Hard to imagine a greater contrast. Maybe there's some sort of 'conservation of dignity' law involved? Obama used up too much of the stuff, so the next one had to be a Trump?

I don't know why this asshole even went to Paris for the Commemoration events. He's not bothered to turn up at stuff scheduled and when he does he's late and alone then proceeds to mug like a dick. What a totally selfish and incomprehensibly small person.
