Caffeine withdrawal?

Yesterday I stopped drinking any soda or anything that has caffeine in it. During the evening, when I arrived home from work, I had a crazy headache. Today I didn't drink anything and right about now I'm starting to get that headache again. I'm guessing it's caffeine withdrawal as I've been drinking insane amounts of caffeine each and every day for the past several years. Anyone else experience the same thing?

Why would I ever stop drinking the Dark Water of Life ?

Headaches are common for apostates, caffeine is one drug you should taper off of instead of quitting abruptly.

I have... drink lots of water to flush it out of your system. Also do thinking intensive things like playing Counter-Strike, BF2, or posting here

I've limited myself down to a single morning coffee, but I haven't cut myself off completely (yet).

Yeah I stopped drinking caffeine and consuming more than a little sugar each day for about 3 months this past summer. Actually, it was pretty awesome, and now I enjoy the occasional coke a lot more.

Does Snapple beverages have caffeine? 'Cause I drink a lot of white tea, green tea, and lemonade made by Snapple. I'd say almost everyday.

Keep drinking your coffee, but start dilluting it with decaf. When you make it mix the normal coffee grouns with decaf coffee grounds. Over two weeks, eventually the ratio should just be decaf. Then you can stop drinking it altogether.

As far as the soda, replace how much you normally would have drinken it with green tea. On your second week, switch it with decaffeinated green tea. Both the decaf coffee and decaf green tea have a fraction of the caffeine still left.

I know their white and green tea says right on the bottle that is has no caffeine. And lemonade should not have any.

I've quit cold turkey on accident. In fact, I'm feeling the beginning of a headache right now. We ran out of coffee filters at work yesterday, so I missed my morning cup of coffee.
I better go make some now.

I went cold turkey on caffeine a few weeks ago. I never had the headache or anything, but on day two I hit a wall while at work. I hadn't felt that tired in a long time. I went cold turkey for a total of four days. I decided one drink containing caffeine isn't so bad. (GIVE ME MY FVCKING MONSTER!)

Ok... so a monster is about two sodas worth of caffeine. I'm so weak.

It's normal. Just hold out for 3 days (5 should be the absolute MAX), and your tolerance and addiction levels will drop back to normal. Safe drug, IMO. If the headaches get too bad, an asprin (sp?) can help.

I haven't had a soda or coffee in about a month now. I also cut the processed sugar intake a lot. Replaced it all with lots of natural stuff, OJ, fruit, etc. I still eat candy or the occasional bowl of ice cream, but like I said, cut down a lot. Feels great too. Wake up easier in the mornings, easier to sleep, more energy. I didn't have any caffeine headaches though, I dont think one soda a day was enough to create an addiction.
