Trump's lies aren't really lies as far as his supporters are concerned. They're bullets being sprayed at his enemies that are trying to drag him down, trying to sabotage his efforts to MAGA, trying to obstruct "________". From what I've been tuning into at a few sites my conservative friends have been mentioning this is what Trump's lies amount to, so in many of his supporters eyes they've managed to rationalize in their heads that he's lying for a good cause, THEIR cause. He's lying to keep the media from destroying him, he's lying to keep his enemies off guard and he's lying as part of a strategy to create confusion and hesitation among those who wish him harm. It's all part of a plan you see.
Looking from the outside in though, it reeks of desperation. It gives off the aroma of their frantically patching holes in a dike that's springing leaks faster than they can be plugged while trying to look like nothing's going on. Hell, the Repubs in the legislature are doing exactly the same thing and behaving the same way except they're being much quieter and much more obtuse and evasive about it.
It's the Trump Show and nobody, and I mean NOBODY on the GOP side of the aisle dare do a single thing to tone it down, to rein it in (except for those few who are retiring of course). Those Repub critters that "infest" the legislature are in hiding, afraid to say the wrong thing and have Trump get wind of it. They're all afraid to get Trump-tweeted out of their primary battles.
Duck and run for cover. Don't mention "his" name unless it's covered in sycophant drool.
Unreal.
