So I'm entertaining some job offers and am trying to calculate my end result pay check. I found a site that has a calculator and want to make sure I'm using it properly.
http://www.paycheckcity.com/calculator/
The top part I can fill out just fine. However, the deductions at the bottom is what I need to make sure I'm doing right.
The main things coming out of my check (other than taxes) are health insurance and 401k.
When I fill out the deduction for 401k, I'd just put in the percentage but then do I check the boxes to show it's exempt from the taxes? I'm assuming that since 401k and insurance come out pre-tax, that'd be the same as saying they are exempt from taxes.
Some for health insurance. I'd put in the weekly portion I have to pay, check the boxes, and I should be good to go right?
I just don't want to calculate this out and then find out I screwed it up...
